Well, If I remember right (Which I probably don't...) Danny would've eventually told girl-Sam the truth, in order to explain why he needed to stay away from her to protect her from Vlad and other baddies. Sam persisted for a while, and almost convinced Danny that they could make it work, when her parents find out where she is and come get her, which leads to Danny getting angry at Sam for keeping something like that secret from him after he told her his biggest secret, especially when he finds out that Tucker and Jazz, the two people he trusts most in life, knew about it and didn't tell him.
Just when things look really, really grim, Danny gets a tip on where his parents are and sets off to find them, and Sam convinces Jazz and Tucker to take her with them when they decide to follow. Danny finds out that Vlad had his parents in a kind of suspended animation, and learns that he'd intended to freeze only Maddie and kill Jack, then after a brief amount of time, Maddie would unfreze without her memories. As it turned out, though, Jack tried to protect Maddie from the ghost that Vlad had hired, which resulted in both of them and the ghost being froze, and left Vlad with no way to unfreeze any of them.
Ironically enough, the Specter Speeder was equiped with the ray that they needed to unfreeze the three, so when Jazz, Sam and Tucker were attempting to help Danny fight Vlad, they accidentally hit Jack, Maddie and the freezing ghost, adding even more chaos to the fight since Jack and Maddie still assumed that Danny was an evil ghost. Just when Danny was going to win, He got hit by Maddie and lost his transformation, as well as his consciousness.
When Danny came to, he was in the hospital, with Jazz at his side. She explained to him that se had to tell their parents everything while they took Danny back to the hospital in Amity, and that Maddie felt terrible about hurting her son. She also explains everything about Sam to Danny, and apologizes for keeping it secret from him. Before Danny could respond, Maddie and Jack came in and there was basically a big Fenton lovefest until Jaxzz pulls her parents out of the room so Danny can rest.
A few hours later, Sam comes in and she and Danny talk. Danny eventually forgives her, tohugh he's reluctant to try and start thier relationship again until they can rebuild their trust, which is a term Sam agrees to. She also tells Danny that she'll be staying in Amity Park, under her brothers guardianship, although she will, unfortuantely, be going to Wendy instead of Casper, which gets a laugh from Danny when she begins complaining about the uniforms. I'd intended to end there, where Danny and Sam could finally start an honest, open relationship from the ground up, and Sam could give Danny the support that he needed.

I would have loved to see Apprenticeship completed. It was so refreshing to see a quality Paulina/Danny story so well written. I can only hope mine is even half as good as yours.

On Nicktoons they do, they've pretty much moved all cartoons there. Still I hold the hope if they can keep Fairly Oddparents on the air for so long and bring back crap like Family Guy, they'll have to bring back Danny eventually. Until then I'm working out the kinks in my own Paulina/Danny story.

you mentioned in 'Unmasked' that you had drawn a picture of Valerie's suit (with a few alterations) which one was it? I'm really curious to see it since I dont like her present one (it DOES look really evil)
Random fact: When I first started watching the series I guess something was wrong with my eyes because I used to think Val's first suit was Hot (really hot) Pink.
just thought that was strange, anyways please send me the name or link or something, I tried looking it up but I couln't find it.

Believibility and pace, I think. The conflict has to be something that your readers can see as difficult to overcome, and the pace at which the characters confront the problem can't be too rushed or it'll become irritating for the readers.
