I see people recommend books like Loomis, but I want to confirm that from someone who already learned to draw.  When you learned how to draw people, did you actually do things like real life drawing & read books like Loomis for learning anatomy?  Or did you just google the fundamentals and practice till you got better?

I heaven't read anything, maybe I should but I'm achieving my ideal drawing style using models, references, I'm not into backgrounds I just care in drawing females the best I can. Perhaps you should start by the basics but it was not my case-
