Not really it's more about me. I just can't have a girlfriend, it's not practical, I have to keep going with my goal, after that, I guess see what's out there
I must have been kidding myself thinking that I could start talking to a girl without getting distracted again, it happened once before and I wasted so much time! I can stand to be alone for another 8 - 10 months, cuz I want an LTR (possibly more) anyway, so its a good chance to work on myself so that I can be a more responsible person.

my goal is.. well I'm writing a novella and also some philosophy, but the thing is, I'm also entering competitions now, and I'm in a very productive phase of my life, and I think if I wasted that opportunity, even on the loveliest girl in the world, I would not be a happy person to be around in the future and I wouldn't be good for anybody. So it makes sense to me now that I go for this, then, as my hairdresser says, "the women will come"...

I think it's a great idea to get your life sorted out before bringing someone into your life. Most of my friends have their whole life planned out except for a husband or wife.

My novella is basically about the life of a person who thinks too much.
He hates women who are so shallow and materialistic because the ideology conflicts with his free spirit way of living. So there is always bad relationships with these women. And bad break ups. They are princesses, they are the complete opposite to him.
He is a very deep thinker and frankly a genius but cannot understand why the average person is not as emotionally intelligent as him. He doesn't know how intelligent he is because it is masked by a learning disability. But his thinking is still very very deep and he is something of a creative genius so he creates elaborate fantasies - both a good and bad thing -in his head, and he cannot go with the flow.
He has this idea in his head that he is going to go back to this place where he had the time of his life, and he keeps trying to get himself as perfect as possible in his mind so that he will be able to replicate this experience he had. Except now it's ten years later. And all his friends have grown tired, they have children etc. Additionally, he has to come to terms as to whether that first time was so great, or has it just gotten better in his mind as the years have gone on.
anyway, when he gets to that place again, he fights with his friends because they can't keep up with him. So he leaves them and goes soul searching and ends up at this Buddhist temple. He tells a monk his story and says that he is sick of that society because his friends think they're old when really they're the same age as him. He thinks the monk made a better choice to remove himself from that society.
but the monk tells him that by existing in society and still trying to be a good guy is doing a lot more than a monk could ever do by removing himself completely from society. So the monk tells the guy to go back and inspire his friends to start living again. It's the best thing he could do. So he does it.
later on the guy comes back from the place. And this time in spite of hating materialistic women that he is attracted to, he decides that he can be the one to show them how to lead a more romantic / spiritual life. So he ends up with a "princess" after all. it's kind of yin and yang to the power of 2. Because all the women in this story are asian and he is white.
