What can I say, I was into steampunk long before I ever knew that a genre even existed for it. My interests in how things were done before my time lead me to conclude that modern living is not as healthy as one may think.
Without getting to much into it I'll just say that yes, back then they didn't walk around with ipods, home computers existed solely in science fiction henceforth there was no internet. Telephones were not portable and credit cards didn't exist BUT on that same breath...
Cancer was very rare and AIDS didn't exist, people lead healthier lives.. Jobs & money were plentiful. Everyone lived up to the title of 'ladies & gentlemen' as opposed to the 'bitches & dawgs' running around today. People even dressed like they cared about their appearances. Granted the average man made about $50./week but that $50. allowed him to live comfortably in a furnished home, a car or two, an optional swimming pool in his backyard AND a 4 week paid vacation every year... So much for modern living.
I'm an artist who works from the heart. The human heart, as we all know is an entire universe of emotions. There are many wonderful artists who have a central feel to their work. Norman Rockwell & Ed hopper are notorious for that. Everything Rockwell did has a 'wholesome Americana' feel to it. With Hopper, all his work has a present stillness about it.
And still there are others who prefer to work predominantly if not entirely in one medium.
I like to explore mediums. I also have work that, as I've been told, "screams joy" while other works of mine portray dark times in my life which is why I think my work lacks cohesion as a whole. But variety is the spice of life and that's something I've valued my whole life.
So if you want to peruse my gallery because of something you've seen on my profile page, don't expect central theme.
