What happened to you, man? I remember you saying something about problems with your internet connection before you signed off for over four weeks straight!

It's good to see you're back, Joseph, really.

CodenameApocalypse In reply to MiniMoose64 [2007-03-29 01:12:55 +0000 UTC]

To be honest with you, it's nothing practical.

I've finally gotten used to the hardships of the job (and my co-workers), I opened a bank account (showing, for quite possibly the first time in my life, responsibility with money), I have talked with several artists who are ready to make a deal join I.I.A.S. Ltd. and I've been practicing driving with my father and it won't be long before I get my actual license.

In short, I've been making great advancements not only for myself, but for my company. I should be feeling like the happiest son-of-a bitch alive...but, for some reason, I don't.

Like I told you on that journal entry of your return after that Big Bear trip, I share a serious addiction to deviantART. I have to sign on at least once a day or it'll just eat away at me until I do.

It's the ultimate online community to talk to people and make friends with the art you make. I truly love this place and I'll never leave, so long as I am alive. I swear that is the truth!

But therein lies my dilemma. The past several deviations were plainly filler, nothing more and nothing less. Small afterthoughts that don't deserve to be in my gallery. For some reason, I am just plainly unmotivated to draw, despite the many great ideas I get on an almost daily basis.

I guess my ideas really have surpassed the limitations of Microsoft Paint. I feel like a caveman, carving with primitive tools, trying make just as astounding and immersing art as any one of the artists I admire.

This applies for "Deviation No. 33", which I have been working on for nearly THREE MONTHS now and, of course the gift art I promised a while back.

Now that I have some money saved away, I could get one of those image-editing programs to improve my art. I seem 'em all the time at Best Buy. Paint Shop Pro IX especially, I know is widely used by my favorite artists. But, even if I did buy it, the problems with this computer probably wouldn't allow it to run it properly or at all without shutting down.

So in the meantime, I'm forced to carve away at an idea that is long obsolete in relation to current news and my gallery is being cluttered with small giimicks in a desperate attempt to stall for time for any one of these things to happen:

1.) This laptop finally kicks the bucket and we get a new computer.

2.) "Deviation No. 33" finally gets finished and uploaded.

3.) The end of the world. (And right now, I'm sort of dawning towards this one.)

I'm finally getting things done and making advancements with my ideas, but it doesn't show on my deivantART page. Every time I log on and see those little "filler" deviations I put up, I just cringe with embarrassment.

Right now, I do feel my actual life is going great. It's creative rut that got me boiling. I never experience a shortage of things to draw, but right now, I'm experiencing a shortage of motivation of drawing with my current style and an insufferable computer that prevents me from taking my ideas further.

I'm sure this thing will blow over soon. Thank you for your concern, Joseph and reading this ridiculously long comment

Thanks for the thought. But all that I was griping about back then is old shit! In three weeks' time, I'll have enough for a new custom tower, and "Deviation No. 33" was finally completed, as you've no doubt seen. Still don't have my license, but I'm not complaining.

Hey, if you really like reading my comments, then I've got a surprise for you! You remember this picture? It's how I first met you.

[link]

Well, it turns out you weren't the only one who disagreed with my first comment, but didn't have the guts to face me about it.

[link]

When, just by chance, I returned to that picture and saw what that prick said, I used all my knowledge on Halo and Metroid to trash him and everything he said about me. The guy never said shit afterwards and if you read some of the other comments left by those who read what I said, they agreed with me! It's my longest comment ever and it will certainly give you the single biggest in-depth look at the "Halo Versus Metroid" movie project.

Enjoy!

CodenameApocalypse In reply to MiniMoose64 [2007-03-28 03:07:36 +0000 UTC]

Don't worry. It came out February 16th so it should still be in theaters.

It's based on the true story of Robert Hanssen, the most dangerous spy in the history of the United States.

For a period of 22 years, up to his arrest on February 18th, 2001, he sold secrets to the Russians after the fall of Communism. Industrial and military secrets and even the identities of covert operatives in the Russian government, all for $1.5 million.

This movie already had great appeal to me because not only was it true, it was interesting to me. I first read about the real case back in Middle School and I was hoping they would make a movie out of it.

It portrays the last two months of the investigation, the agent. Eric O'Neil, assigned to uncover proof of espionage and eventually leading to Hanssen's arrest.

It truly captures the sense of human intelligence versus counter-intelligence. The music was composed by Mychael Danna. I picked up the album on Amazon.com and it is simply beautiful.

It's not exactly James Bond, but it's a real-life espionage thriller that I highly recommend you to see, Joseph,

Only 1.5 million! He shoulda gotten more than that! I remember hearing about his case in one of my "Spy" books.
I also remember seeing a trailer for this film. I'm gonna see if its still in theaters here in California. Thanks for the recommendation!

Ever since Sean C. stop playing James Bond the movies have sucked.

CodenameApocalypse In reply to Milkb0ne [2007-03-26 18:25:01 +0000 UTC]

Well that's just a matter of opinion. Indeed that Sean Connery was the original and best of them. "Goldfinger" is my favorite of him.

I never saw "In Her Majesty's Secret Service", so I don't have an opinion on George Lazenbery, who only played James Bond once.

Some may not agree with Roger Moore for making light of the character.

Timothy Dalton...let's skip him.

Pierce Brosnan, was the first Bond I saw in the movie "Goldeneye". I think he was one of the best, but some of his movie's plot lines got too convulted.

Daniel Craig made a spectacular performance in Casino Royale. I had my doubts at first but, when I saw it in the theaters, I honestly found it hard to imagine Pierce Brosnan doing the same stunts and be as new and invigorating to the series.

They definitely needed a fresh start and they pulled it off great. I'm still in the process of reading the original novel and it astounds me how faithful they were to it and re-translated some of the elements into the 21st Century.

So while no one can ever truly replicate Mr. Connery's charisma, I definitely look forward to the next one with eager anticipation in light of this new, more humanistic James Bond,

It was the one thing to crown off the best year of my life to date. (Graduation from high school, getting to visit my families in both Costa Rica and New York and the return of James Bond!)

Come see this picture again when you've seen the opening sequence. I bet you will laugh from it.

Speaking of movies, have you seen "Breach"? It's based on the true story of the worst spy in U.S. History and has some real nice music.

I wish...

No, this picture was Marching Band Practice, taken at around October 2005 on the back lot of my old High School.

That's me (wearing a bandana over my head) taking a water break. That activity was fun, but very exhausting. That's my Trumpet lying behind me.

It's the one thing I actually miss about High School.

I drink like a fish so I thought this was a fitting picture for my webcam. None here shall see my face just yet!

Oh yeah, I love Red Vs. Blue! William was the one to introduce me to it back in '05. I downloaded almost every episode from the website.

Unfortunately, when my computer's hard drive was wiped, I was unable to save them. All that hard work.

I still watch it on the site and not having the episodes on the computer gives me a lot more space for stuff.

Private Tucker is my favorite. He's a regular pimp. Plus his voice actor's real name is Jason, just like me,

However it's funny that you mention it. A friend of mine (who hacks his PSP so much, it's a wonder it still works) has given me a web address to a site that has PSP hacks and more.

What I do know on the subject is that with every upgrade to your PSP's firmware, it gets tougher to hack...but then there are those who made programs to downgrade your systems firmware. Just hack with caution my friend,
