No problem. Keep up the good work! You look like you might still be at the point where you might accept a dA friend request. One thing that some deviants don't know is that the friends list tells you which deviants you've friended, but it doesn't tell you who friended you. As such, I try not to add people to my friend list unless I'm sure they'll friend me in return.

It is sometimes heard that the planets are supposed to align on December 21, 2012 along with various other explanations for how the world is supposed to end. However, astronomical models do not bear this out. I don't know about you, but I have never heard a convincing explanation for the world ending in 2012 and personally consider myself a skeptic.

Me too. The Mayan "premonition" is actually end of calendar cycle. What would have happen at end of that calendar cycle? Nothing, they would likely only make a new calendar cycle.

Yeah, December 21, 2012 for the ancient Mayans is sort of like January 1, 2000 for us. (There was also a doomsday theory for the year 2000, ironically enough.) It is difficult to predict what an alternate history would be like, but if the Indian-European relations had not been so hostile, perhaps the Mayans would be preparing for a huge celebration.

I remember the May 21 doomsday phenomenon. Sometimes, it hits me (or a journal post or whatnot brings it to my attention)-for every person eager to witness the end of the world, there is a person fearful that they will be wiped clean off the face of the earth before they can grow up, get married, or have kids. As such, I worry about the effects these doomsday theories have on children.
