Okay. I just want to say/admit some things: I miss getting up to see you every day at school, 5 days a week. ): I miss having snow days and you'd often spend the day with me. I miss those early mornings in art class. I miss leaving notes in your locker and binders!!! I miss passing notes in class. I miss laying around together during spare. I miss listening to you play piano! ): I miss seeing your doodles in your binder. I miss hacking your locker combo. I miss seeing your car parked in the school parking lot... which sometimes made my heart kind of.. flutter. I miss having classes with you. I miss feeling sad simply because it was a tragedy when you were away from school for the day (or sometimes, you were only gone for half the day...). I miss keeping you company when you practiced clarinet. I miss sitting on the window ledge with you at lunch. I miss sharing my last cucumber slice with you! ): I miss the days neither of us wanted to talk during spare and just did our own thing. I miss taking 'naps' during lunch or spare. I miss stalking you when you randomly disappeared. I miss when you'd hug me from behind at my locker, and although I often knew you were going to do that, it still gave me butterflies. I miss making people wonder. I miss keeping things on the "down low" (; I miss working on separate school work when both our classes booked lab time together in the same lab/ library. I miss staring at your hair in class out of boredom [; I miss the days that I disliked that you were always too busy during lunch hours, but knowing you were in the same room as me made me happy. Awwww, this is too sweet. I miss it too. It was exciting to see you every day, especially when I was walking to my locker I'd be like "Is Sydney there yet..? >:3" and even on the bus ride when we got to Wingham I'd look out the window to see if you were on your way. And I loved pestering my mom to let me stay after school so I could hang out with you (or Charlotte back in the day :3). And I miss being stalked or finding fantastic, surprise notes to make my day better.

Okay. So THAT'S why my chords sounded like shit the last time I tried. I just noticed that you're no supposed to strum ALL the strings... O__e I thought you were... gah. That's confusing.. do you ALWAYS JUST strum the notes that are pressed down...? Because sometimes there are other strings that you leave open and I'm confused. Ho humm... Uhh, it kind of depends. For the chords on the first three frets (ie. not bar chords) there are... not really rules, I guess.. Just don't strum a string that doesn't have a note from the triad in it. (you know your notes and triads so you should get this. And you'll learn, as you figure out what the notes are on the fret, which notes are making up the chord.)
It depends A G chord you can strum all of them, obviously, because you've got a note on every string (and the root, G, is on the bottom string, which will makes it sound better, generally). Works the same for E since, IMAGINE THAT, the lowest string is an E, so you have the root in the bass of the chord.
With something like C you can technically strum all of the strings but the note on the lowest string is an E so you would have an inverted chord (I6, I think you know inversions right? It's the 2nd inversion, the second snowman. ) so it would sound fine, but usually you just play the top five strings because then you have the C as the lowest note.
This kind of works with a D chord too. When you play the D chord you DO NOT play the lowest string because that, my dear, is an E and would sound terrible. There are ways to get around it and play it as a I6 chord but.. we'll keep it simple. Also, you could TECHNICALLY play the fifth string, which is an A, but that would give you a 6/4 chord which.. Ehh, it has it's time and place but I just wouldn't bother with it. If you strum it by accident, of course, there are no consequences but I wouldn't bother, just to make the chord sound best and to keep it simple.
Same works for F if you're playing the short hand way (index finger over the first two strings on the first fret) instead of the bar chord way. In this case, the F chord works just like the D chord (except A is the third of the chord so you could play it, I6, and it would sound better than the D chord with the A in the root, I6/4).
I hope that makes sense.. You might not remember all the terms but I'm pretty sure I didn't use any crazy vocabulary... Then again, I was riding home with John and kept using musical terms and stuff and he's like "Yeah... okay.." and he threatened to use his Science vocab on me. I need to watch what I say to non-music majors!
