Ah, yes, it is noticeably more oriental compared to your work... I senses a kindredness through in your subjects, which begged to be shared.
I like art in any medium, so long as it manages to speak to me is my only concern. I'm sure if you practice anything enough the art will find a way to flow from you.
Hmm, I like them for what they are. Maybe you would feel better about them if you turned them into portraits? Your work would lend itself to old fancy painting frames and some type of backgrounds that are simple yet look correct for that time period.

Oh, and I'd have a quick question for you, since you once mentioned you love words, and I see you love writing (also, you surely are better than me at writing in English, for abvious reasons)
Well, the question is this one: I am making taglines for the characters (those lines I put under their names in the sheets) and I am making the Marquis' one. I'd like to write something like "an high priest of something unholy" but I don't know if the phrase is correct. Is there a term for "Pope" without having to write Pope? Is high priest good? Do I have to write "OF something unholy" or "FOR somehting unholy"? Does "an high priest of something wrong" sound better or worse?

Hmm. Well the Pope is a title, a position, as such a high priest wouldn't equate at all. At best a high priest could hope for is to be just under a Pope in status. I do have an idea though, so let me hit google real quick.

Ah, see, I wondered if the church of Satan had a position of equal status only for "the dark side," and even they just said the "Black Pope." That doesn't sound creative enough for me, so maybe The Perverted Pope or Inverted Pope... something showing it's holding the same high position but that it's somehow became corrupted by the person now holding the title. After that it's really up to you, do you feel something like the Perverted/Inverted Pope of Unholy Intent (or something along those lines) sounds better as part of the title, or you could have it added as:

I don't know, could just be the corrupted Pope title, and then... uh, do you know how people with longer titles in stories have the short version and long version of their title? They just say the "official" version when being announced or something. So you could have both technically.

You're probably right about the portraits, but I feel like I don't want to indulge too much into the characters' time period style, otherwise I sense I'd lose some shades of them (which are way more influenced by my daily 21st century life).
I'm still practicing with digital backgrounds, though, because I'd like them to look a little more like oil backgrounds. You know, they are plain, but they have lots of gradients. Anyway, I love your advice, it always makes me question why I am making some choices, and this is deeply important, so if you feel like it every suggestion from you is very welcome!

Ah, well, the oil-like background was what I was more leaning towards anyways... I just couldn't think of how to word it right.
I get that you don't want them tied down too much yet, that's the whole point of keeping the images simple to begin with... and why when adding anything more you'll tie them down more and more with every addition. So that's the dilemma, add more and live with those additions or leave it more simply and more open but maybe slightly more empty feeling? Compromises, always a pain.
I'll keep my suggestions to my answering of your questions, I want your art to be as much you as they can be. If you think of anything else to ask though feel free to do so, I'm glad to help when I can.

That's up to you... personally, I found extremely useful to write in english. When you are "forced" to write and answer to replies in english, you improve very fast. So yeah, it's a good english "gym" here.

Nope, ma se andrai in gruppi a tema italiano (Italia, DeviantartItalia, ItalianIllustrators per dirne alcuni... li trovi sulla mia homepage) è molto più facile fare amicizia. Anche se ti consiglio di tentare di mettere le tue descrizioni in inglese e di allenarti con la lingua. C'è gente da tutto il mondo qui, e ti giuro che parlare con loro è davvero interessante. Inoltre, in un anno che sono qui, il mio inglese è migliorato tantissimo. Fai la prova!
