your adopts are super cute, but the fact is you're over pricing them. when you don't have a huge watch base and your adopts are traditional media (i feel that pain trust me) no one is going to want to spend 600 points or six bucks. you need a following first and you need to start out cheaper. otherwise its going to be hard to pick up momentum. most people who can afford 6 dollars for an adopt will go for the fancy ones done in sai or photoshop. so the people looking at your art in the very start are going to be students with lower budgets, and if they don't have the funds they're going to keep scrolling. hope some of that was helpful

I'm sorry to interrupt but that's just not so- Her adopts are of a great quality for traditional media and the designs themselves are eye catching and beautiful. As a fellow adopt making and customer- I think her designs are reasonably priced- and would happily purchase one. I'd also like to say- though your advice is sound on some levels- it's not really all that nice telling someone there hard work is "Overpriced". They would be worth it to many.

i don't mean the quality of her work is bad. like i said i think her work is adorable, and i am also a mainly traditional media artist, but facts are facts and from every thing i've seen its much much more difficult to get a high priced sale for traditional media no matter how good the quality is. id say my traditional media is also worth much more than i sell it for, but no one is going to bite when you are first starting out and have hardly any watchers yet. its got nothing to do with the quality of her work. the only reason i say it's overpriced is because of what i've seen people willing to spend on the majority of different kinds of adopts. so i'm not intending to be unkind. i'm being realistic about most purchasers on DA. i think she totally deserves 6 dollars for her work, i just know that when you first begin you arent most likely going to have an easy time getting that. you have to work up to it.

also make sure to join and submit to AS MANY adopt groups as you can it can be real tedious submitting to a billion places but it really ups your chances! forgot to mention that earlier.

I hate to be rude, but both she and I have seen works of far less quality go for about the same. I agree that it's important to put herself in as many circles as she can, something I've already mentioned to her, but here's the thing: if she's selling her adopts for 20 points or whatever, at that quality, then the people buying her stuff will always expect the adopts to be 20 points and would get pissed off if she suddenly started upping the price just because she has more watchers/people interested.
Go on. Imagine that. Someone you like does cute adopts for 20 points. You can afford that! Suddenly, though, their prices start to increase; the work may not be professional lever artist who's been doing it for years, but the price still increases. Wouldn't you be upset? This cute work that you could afford, you suddenly can't, just because the person has more watchers now.
It's good to set a price that you think is worth it when starting out. 600 points/$6 is not at all too expensive. In fact, for the time and resources she puts into each adopt, it's fairly cheap.
It's not about how many watchers she has. As I told her already, it's literally all about networking. Kindly fuck off and think twice before you decide that you know everything about selling art.

Oh my gosh your adopts are really, really cute!!!
I would most definitely be interested in buying! I don't have money right now but when I do you bet I'll be getting my hands on these! : )
I found you through "SpikedHeart" on Subeta!

Well, thanks. Hopefully you pull through, because usually when I get an "I'm broke, but when I get paid" message it never happens

Nah, keep your head up! These things take a lot of time and effort and I understand what it's like to need commissions and no one has funds.
Unfortunately these things get to be a real disappointment and exposure is your best friend.
Positivity is also your greatest ally!! Don't let it upset you and just keep drawing more and more and eventually you will find a buyer!
Edit: Take it from 7 years experience in trying.

I was thrown out on Christmas. "Need" commissions is understating things. In case I get thrown out again, I would like to be able to at least have enough change in my pocket for a bus ride.

I totally get that and I see what's making you so stressed out (it's quite obvious that you are).
I really mean it when I say keep your head up and your options open. Do you have other social media's and what not, like Instagram and Tumblr?

Tumblrparleboo . Got commissions and adopts there, too. I'm just starting these accounts but the old ones are dead and ignored anyway
