there will be an 18+ one coming up in the next few months, but the last time we tried to organise one we ended up with 3 or 4 RSVP's despite much encouragement

I'll try, I'm currently planning an end of year-ish 18+ meet. No idea what people will be doing and i'm expecting most people will be very busy with work but I'll think of something.

Indeed we will. I'm just unsure if it should be on the 8th or 15th of August. Either it will be in freo and a fair few people know their way around so it will be a lot easier than the last shoot.

So far it's the 15th of August. I would have had a journal up earlier however between work and going in and out of hospital i've been fairly distracted.

Nope, well maybe. However it can be nightmarish for people in hospitality and customer service to get the day off. And lets face it, most artists when they're starting out are in one of those professions. Sunday is a nice easy day to get off, especially if you're on penalty rates getting from 1.5 to 2.5 times your pay most employers will say you have it off.

Hello here is a group about budding arists with ideas and contributing new and innovative work with feeling and emotion, BUT wait for another month will you? And if you live in the country, then you can just stuff off.
If you want people to be active, then you have to active yourself...

People want to express them selves, and I'd rather do it with people who want to listen to what I have to say. Not what YOU want them to hear or see.

I have just come out of surgery on both of my knees and was pretty smashed on medication. I was obviously feeling a bit out of sorts and quite emotional.

You are, it has been a very hectic time for the admins here and we literally haven't had time to coordinate for this month so it was decided to just say go nuts.
If anything take it as a challenge and create a piece which has no visible theme.

I've looked briefly, but haven't been able to find any information. But, if you have to be a contributor, I'd love to become one

policy is that you can only submit one piece a month to the gallery - other than that, the only restriction is the monthly theme, but for june i think we'll have an open round/no theme.

Hey perthdeviants, nice to see there is a fair number of WA artists on dA.
I was going to submit some of my fantasy digital art until I noticed the whole gallary is filled up with photography and other similar fields 
Also I can't seem to find any rules about submissions up on this group page.
Is it OK for me to just submit anything to the gallery or is there any protocol I need to follow?

there's no set artistic style for our group, it just seems that we get a lot of photography submissions! the only rules for submissions are that they need to relate to the theme, and you can only submit one deviation a month
