what things have they been revamping so far? I just went back and friended the people who were still active and it seems like the NF bar is completely broken D: I know it was a small thing, but it was a cool feature nonetheless since you could see who was on.
Oh yeah, I read from Nienke that the AC page was the only page she didn't reupload layouts on, and she mentioned that the players changed. I was only vaguely aware that AC teams actually had players with names, I totally forgot about that concept haha. What happened to some of those players, any examples?

From what I've seen, they revamped the caption contest, the neofriends sidebar and the site rules.
I still offer some really old lookups on my AC page but because of the nostalgia haha I could make newer ones with a better, more modern style and the actual players on each team, but there are 18 teams and it's a pain. AC graphics are very stressful to make! I'd rather just offer the ones I have to offer a bit more of quantity but when I get time I'll add new ones.
I think tnt tends to change them every now and then, saying they left the team or silly stuff like that. They just make new ones but I don't think they have done it in a few years now!

aw, I always love looking at old layouts! I like the modern minimal style that you see often these days, but the styles from back then (more of an image-based emphasis) is something I'm still fond of. How long does it take you to make graphics for just one team?
oh yeah, do they still do the staff tournament during the AC, too? I wonder how many new faces I'd see if I checked in on that, idk who's still with TNT and who isn't.

I don't think so! I do hope they bring it back. I managed to get the avatar when it was still available!
I'm still do more image based than actual css layouts because I also like them too! Sometimes I try to combine both or just work what's best for the petpage purpose, like I did with my autumn lookbook.
It doesn't take me that long tbh but it's just SO repetitive having to go through each team, each image, each color lol it's a pain and tedious.

I don't like to think about all the exclusive avatars I missed since you usually can't get them again ): Also bothers me how there are some avatars where you can only get one or the other, like the royal Korbats.
I thought The Teahouse's layouts were cool. It took dedication to hand-drawing every single layout, so I wonder how many hours that took. oh, and those pixel site layouts were drawn, too! I wouldn't have the patience to do something as minuscule and precise as pixelling.

I know right? I think I missed that one from meridell defenders of meridell or something like that. Or the plot retired ones ): I remember the idea they had about giving them again through The Coincidence daily? Not sure if you remember it.

Really, The Coincidence had those prizes? I thought it was just random items, Codestones/Neggs, and whatnot. I remember how much prices for little items soared, though, after being in high demand due to it.
Honestly, props to her for spending eight hours or so for a single layout that might get switched out quickly. I know it's good practice for her, but it's sad to see something like that get wasted so quickly ): This one is still up, actually! I think it was a glitch but some people got reallly really old avatars like Free Jhuidah or those kind of old plot avatars! They took it down after many people complained about it lol I do get newcomers might feel unmotivated when they join Neopets and see so so many retired avatars they cannot get.
Oh my I remember that layout! Loved watching Rika making them. Those really stood out at the time!

did they also revoke the avatars from the people who managed to get them? Personally I never thought I'd get the big 3, but I'm happy I finally accomplished one of my earlier neo-dreams! the people on the AC must have good connections since I see shells with nice avatars.
I don't remember if I ever attended any of her streams. But man, streams were really fun. I don't remember the last time a stream for someone in the site-making community was held.

They said they wouldn't make the avatar retroactive, meaning former winners like me wouldn't be able to get it, which is funny because the site spotlight could only be won once in a lifetime lmao so rip avatar.

I guess if they didn't want people to get the avatar again they can prevent them from winning lol, but it doesn't seem to matter anyway since you'd already have it if you won. What other sites in the site-making community ever won that contest? I never really checked it out.
I see people streaming art, but the streams are big since they're popular and you don't really have a close-knit group of people to chat with,.

They simply discontinued the spotlight which is pathetic, it was a great way to get people into site making and get some free advertisement for a week! rip I don't think many of the well known site makers won the actual spotlight. I barely remember the winners.

OOOOH That gallery looks fantastic! I used to have my autumn gallery, when it won the spotlight, organized in that kind of format but I instead did it by categories. Like all backgrounds together, upper fgs, bottom fgs, wigs, books, etc. It took 5ever because I got nearly 1k items at the time LOL
I remember when those competitions were popular. I also remember those site community news page that would update about all sites. I used to read those all the time.

I never got that deep into organizing my gallery. I would put similar items together (like Summer Usul Music Box + Usul Princess Plushie and Pink Usul Soap + Usul Exfoliating Brick), but never needed to figure out the knitty-gritty of everything. That's why I narrowed it down to cute/pretty Usul items instead of all Usul items, so it won't get too big lol and frankly, I wasn't fond of some of the items.
I didn't really pay attention to many of those sites. I did participate a lot in Turnip's Always Connected Site, though! I also checked out Asura but I feel like that was a popularity contest where you could easily mail friends to say good stuff about you. ooh and remember magazine sites? I wasn't around when they were at their peak, but I thought the idea of them was cool. Neostars Magazine was really organized.

Have you seen those "cute" themed galleries? People would pick some of the cutest items lol they are beautiful and most of them organize them in a rainbow patron.
I loved Always Connected! In fact, it was I think the only active site I'd read.

Yes, I love those! But usually those are pretty informal, so I haven't seen one on the gallery spotlight. I don't remember the people who owned them, so they're hard to find unless you bookmark/remember them.
I wonder what happened to Turnip, though. She owned lots of sites and was one of the most active people out there, but I guess she just disappeared suddenly like the rest of us. Last time I checked, TLB was full of broken images ):
