I wanted to, but I'm kind of on the poor side of the family.
And most art schools are REALLY expensive and my parent just can't do it.
So I might have to go to PCC and get some kind of GA and then get into an art school. :C

oh, well I guess I'm in a similar situation. My parents are very supportive, just not financially haha. I'd have to pay for pretty much everything myself. There are lots of resources I plan to utilize like life drawing workshops in our area, and saturday-high, which I plan on applying for next year, as I missed this years scholarship deadline. I also plan on applying to csssa for character animation next year on scholarship. After next year I wouldn't jump directly into art school, but rather get a year of exploring on my own and working because I'm going to need to save as much money as I can. Ultimately, I'd like to end up at Calarts. I'd be paying for it with student loans, and I know that most students get a studio job right out of Calarts so I'd hopefully be able to start paying those off right after. Though the debt is pretty intimidating, It wouldn't be enough to put me off from going. Your education is such a valuable investment. I'd imagine it being like paying off a small mortgage, except you're getting an education and not a place to live haha.

Hey, you have a lot of things planned out already, seems to be a workable plan too. I believe you can definitely make it and pay off the debt ultimately at the end. Oh! And I heard Calarts is a hard place to get into, but it's definitely a great place for animation artists like you since I heard it's founded by Walt Disney, so I'd assume their animation courses are much more top tier? idunno. I'm not majoring in animation. ~ A ~;
Mmm as for me, I don't really have a complete solid plan because I am not sure about my future, not only am I poor -- I also have other problems to handle. I can't really say what those problems are though lol... and I have a feeling I might have to go back to Hong Kong soon after HS though. Um, yeah but I'd really rather not since most of the best Art schools are here in California.
It really sucks to want to try to be an artist when you come from a poor family (expensive education AND materials with a unsteady gain), but I think being able to succeed from these hardships will make the feeling of success sweeter. I'll just have to work towards that with what I have I guess -- you too. So good luck.

yeah, I really know how you feel money-wise. Did you start out doing digital stuff and then traditional? Because that's how me and jessie started. I really need to buy more art supplies.

Sort of yeah, well I don't really do traditional stuff cause I can't afford the good materials and my room is a total mess so it's hard for me to get started with any watercoloring or painting or w/e and there's no undo button irl so I get fustrated easily.

borders? you mean like the white lining around the art? I go on photoshop --> select all the free spaces --> select inverse --> expand selection by one --> select inverse --> remove the free spaces --> tada, clean lining around the art. * v*
