oh oh~~ I think there is only a FF party at Taipei underground street in September, but it is nothing worth traveling up to Taipei about.. I think anyway... unless you want to drop by the maid cafe there.

I know I'll be in Chungl, then Tungkang, then Kaohsiung, Tainan, then finally Taipei for a day. My family is from the South so most of the time will be spent down there.

Is there a part of taipei I should go visit ? I've been there once before many, many years ago but don't really remember.

Well, it's really mostly shopping and food really, not much of site seeing in Taipei. I guess you should at least visit Taipei 101 if you are interested.
