I am sorry lavi. I was just tired of how childish people complain about this series. I agree but I give the benefit of the doubt because we're only two years into this new continuity. We've barely scratched the surface. There's more and plus twenty years of content doesn't rebuild itself.

Don't worry. I understand. I'm a Doctor who fan, and I constantly see fans get on Moffatt for doing things that the previous writer did even more.
But for this series, I'm not looking for this series to be like the past world. For this series it seems to be afraid of writing these 5.
At the end of the Battle Arc, I have learned more about Breezie and Honey individulally than I have about Rotor, Antoine and Bunnie combined as the series never gives them any stories to challenge them. Nicole, while has an interesting concept, has absolutely no personality and does nothing outside of her concept. Sally, does things, but doesn't have a clear character as the only consistent thing about her is being correct.Β
Even though the story did reboot, it has had theΒ equivalent of 10 tv episodes of run time, which is enough time to at least establish and uniquely challenge most of your cast, which still hasnt happened yet.

Have you read the origins comics that are featured in the digest and special magazines (and a FCBD issue)? Cause there are some details that you may have missed if you read them carefully. All I can say some of it shown rather than told. Also, if you read the digest origins story for nicole though there is mental details for nicole there is some stuff for antoine and bunnie. Also, look at the first and last issue of the champions arc mostly for what antoine says and does in those issues.

Yes I have read those.
First off, basic character establishment should not be in side material.
Secondly, yes Bunnie and Antoine do get side issues to give them some personal conflict... That is resolved in those issues. Bunnie has issues with her limbs, great, but then Antoine and Sally compliment her and she is ok with them. Antoine is cowardly, but after talking to bunnie he fine and now has no other issues to deal with.
As for Antoine in the Champions arc, yes it establishes that he hates on Sonic, for no stated reason, which could be fine. However again that is weak for a main character's most notable quality to be their shallow jealousy of another character.

Lavi, I understand basic establishment of character is supposed to be in the main issues. however, one could say there was main establishment in the main series with countdown to chaos, however, the nitty gritty stuff that you would expect in main material is in the side stuff due to I think sega's actions in how they want the comics to go. Which on their part is all the stuff happened already and will only be touched upon via flashbacks. Hence the origins side stories.
Now give me time cause I am going to help you decode this past. And trust me it will surprise you.

2 things:
First off, I'm of the belief that back stories are not required for characters. It does give an idea about their motivations and how they became who they are. However, what I am looking for is who they are in the present. You don't need a backstory to establish that.
secondly, I plan on posting this later, but I can't buy the idea that SEGA will give say that characters in 20 year old games can have stories about them, but refuse to let these 5 to get any attention, especially after the last SU arc was mainly about Sally and Nicole. Does SEGA do things to hurt the comic and hinder Flynn? Most likely. But when it comes to these 5, I think Flynn just doesnt find them interesting and only writes them in when he needs to.

You know what forget it. I think I am just gonna drop the book because it's such a chore to enjoy something you like when everyone else who once liked it now hate it.
