Hi, do mind if I ask you something? Sorry if this sounds wierd but Im a goth and i do feel it inside but I have a friend that tells me that I am not at or look anything like a goth she thinks I look punk. She says I don't act like it but I do when I am not around her. She is just a little younger than me(I know that sounds kinda stupid). Well I have had people(family) that have hurt me and when I grew older I knew that they were just pretending to care and they don't wan't anything to do with me and I really don't know why. But do you think that I am a"goth" because I have been hurt? I don't think my friend knows what the hell she is saying and she claims she was goth, when she was 10 I belive. So please relpy back and again I am sorry if this is strange but I have to have an answer!

My friend, the only advice I could offer you has already been imparted by Sorrowburn. Personally I don't think you've gone goth cos you've been hurt...but it depends on the reasons lurking in your heart. I became what is classed as goth because i felt comfortable in the subculture. I wore a lot of black as it was and I liked the music. It was a sort of natural progression into it. But yeah don't let other people label you. You are you, nothing else just you. Have the confidence to pull off whatever you feel most comfortable in and forget about the labels. God bless you and inspire you hun.
