# About me

I graduated from the University of Miami May of 2011 with a Bachelors of Science in Education; double majoring in Psychology and Human & Social Development. At Miami I received paid work for 2 years as the Staff cartoonist for the Miami Hurricane Newspaper with over 50 newspaper publications. I was also an illustrator and was published in a few magazines like, DISTRACTION and Palmer Trinity. For 2 summers during my undergraduate studies I worked at Island Lake Camp as the Cartooning Instructor and taught groups of children ages 7-16.

I'm getting my first tattoo January! I've been waiting four years to get one. My parents are really against it- but I'm an artist and I just see my body as an empty canvass. So I found a great artist, I told him my idea and I booked it 6 months in advance and told my parents. I'm soo excited! Can't wait

that's fantastic. oh you're gonna love it! sychronicity with your tattoo artist is key. they must be able to see things the same way you do to give your tattoo the really personal feeling and like the artist is allowed to bring something of their own to it. i'm really glad you researched the artist and found someone you respect and can work with. it's a big deal if you're a serious collector and you want a really special piece of art! enjoy! the pain is immaterial. first of all it's just not that bad and second it's so worth it and once you start getting tattoos you'll enjoy the process, too. i've talked to people who the the smell of the soap they clean the extra ink off as they go along or odd things like that because they have such good associations with being tattooed! the sound of the machine bothers some people. it's rather jarring. if i may ask, what is the design going to be like? what ideas are you bringing to the table?

It needs to have 2 parts to it- A clock with eye in the middle and the King of hearts/Suicide king
The artist have a very dark, elegant style and looking at his work I can see what it's going to look like. I'm such a big fan of his and love everything he does so there's no way of disappointment! :-D and for the pain issue- If all these sissies can get a tattoo then I can to- And I figure once it starts- You're finishing it lol

that sounds like a very cool design! what city is your artist in?
yeah, the pain becomes an non-issue if you find the tattoo important. my artist has told me some funny stories about people he tattooed who did things like scream or piss themselves, or pass out or fall off the table or cry. talk about sissies! i just cannot imagine of having such a dramatic reaction so something so easy for me to deal with!
i feel very much the same about finishing tattoos, i'll walk on hot coals before i'll give up! but i have actually met people who have copped out and have ridiculously unfinished tattoos. could you be MORE lame?? lol!

tell me about it! or two other examples i've seen that were as horrible were--a guy who had tattooed "skinhead" on his forehead whilst looking in the mirror and guess what!? it was backwards! lol. but i think that anyone who is a big enough idiot to tattoo skinhead on their forehead deserves what they get. the other one is a guy who had siouxsie sioux tattooed on his arm and it was spelled souxsie sioux. that's just dump. i mean, pay attention, dumb shit!
