I mean, its crazy how 3 years ago, my channel didn't really have anything to offer. So, to see my poems getting over a 1,000 views, or even see something like a TF story to get over a 1,000 views, I mean sheez I feel as if I went far! Like, I accomplished so much on this site, especially for my Youtube... poem. So yeah, i'm proud of what I created, and I hope to always be writing poems on here as best I can.

Yeah, I agree! I feel like a lot of good things have been happening to me lately, that every time they do, I can't help but feel excited about it. I mean, when you win a raffle contest for 3rd place, get two poems of your's to ever reach over a thousand, to get one of your poems featured by one of the higher up's of deviantart, and then to actually get your own work featured on to the what hot page...... Oh my god, its better then going to Disney World, because nobody told you, or even gave you a hint on what was going to happen. No, in fact your more surprise, and ecstatic because it happened, because now you feel like your actually climbing up the ladder for once in your life. So, I honestly have been taking a little break, especially when Youtube... taken a lot out of my brain with writing everything in that one poem, and going and forth with L just to make sure that I got everything down right. Because when you think about it, that is the one of the most recent poems that is actually pretty long. I mean, its not the longest one I wrote, but its not short either, especially when I have to talk about everything that I hate about Youtube nowadays, and sheez was that hard. Just trying to find the right beat, the rhymes, the right words, and.... Sheez, it was just hard to write in general! But was it worth it in the end? Crap yeah it was!

Sounds like it was! For a guy with such small beginnings you definitely stepped up your game since then! You deserve a break for now, you earned it a while ago!
(Also, you were on What's Hot?!)

AwsomeIsRed In reply to CrazyNaut [2016-03-08 04:21:41 +0000 UTC]
Yes, now I had no clue I was on the what's hot page, until someone the comment section told me. So, when I when I found it on there, my mouth just dropped down to the floor. I mean seriously, I never thought in a millions years that I would be on the what's hot page, but there it was, right next to a my little pony drawing. Yeah, isn't that odd to place a poem about Youtube, right next to a My Little Pony drawing? But yeah, considering how poets don't seem to get much credit for writing poems in this day and age, that I feel honored to be one of the few who actually made it on to the whats hot page for once in my life.

That's incredible⦠who knew all it took to get to the popular page was to express distaste and FWPs into something like poetry?
Actually, that's kinda the Internet in generalβ¦

AwsomeIsRed In reply to CrazyNaut [2016-03-08 04:35:42 +0000 UTC]
Sure, it is basically what the internet is, especially when its a free for all on what people can say to other people, and trust me that's a huge problem with the internet in general in my opinion. But with Youtube, this problem has been happening since 2015, after I Hate Everything made such a big deal about how screwed up the copyright system was for allowing Derek Savage to copyright is video for just not liking his review, and that's when bad thing started to happen. Literally, a whole bunch of popular and smaller youtubers got copyright claims, copyright strikes, and even getting there own channels terminated. Β

Yeah⦠and it's like Jim Sterling has said before:
"YouTube apparently has no interest in helping. β¦ Some direct and clear fucking communication would be useful. β¦ But then, we just make the videos. Weβre not the corporations.
So fuck us, right?"
π: 0 β©: 1
AwsomeIsRed In reply to CrazyNaut [2016-03-08 04:55:33 +0000 UTC]
Exactly, but if you go on youtube right now, you'll see that there's thousand of videos of people saying that we're tired of this crap, and we need a new and better system right now. And in between this was going on, I was afraid of people starting to keep quiet again, because once we do, then bam its game over! Because why would the people in charge of Youtube wanna fix a problem, when its community does nothing but say nothing about it? So, I made a poem about everything that I hate about Youtube, that way the it will get people to keep speaking up about it, but thankfully youtubers are doing a fantastic job at it, but still I felt like I needed to take some part into this somehow, which gave birth to Youtube...

Don't worry, it's a rising movement that could only end in some of YouTube's blood. When people continue to make a stink about something, people will hear them, and if that's how online passes vanished from gaming, that's how YouTube policy improvements will come about.

Alright Dylan, I would be very happy to listen to your music, and since i'm not that good with finding stuff online, I would be happy if you can give me the link to the site. Also, I have a question for you, Dylan. I write poetry as well, but is writing a song almost like writing a poem?Β

Okay!
Here:Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr0WLFβ¦
Let me know what you think
And if you like it, sharing it would be cool too.
--------------
Hmm, for me, the process is similar that, at their best, they're reflections of myself but music has a stronger focus of feeling rather than what's being said. There's a greater degree of freedom in the way you construct words as opposed to poetry, where every word counts. On the other hand, there's a stronger focus on rhythm in music, and there is that in poetry as well, with some the earliest poems being in the form on hymns, but it is more strict in music.
So, to shorten this up, in some respects, writing a song is similar to writing poetry, and I do believe they stretch the same brain muscles but there are also some nuances in both that make them unique.Β I don't really like thinking of them as two different entities though. The main reason something becomes a song as opposed to poem for me is because I came up with the chord progressions first.

AwsomeIsRed In reply to Aquatic-Angel [2015-12-17 20:40:33 +0000 UTC]
When I watch it again, I still do like it, however I found out how much exposition there is throughout the entire film. Apparently, everything has to be explained to the audience to know what's going on, but the film does it so frequently, that it makes me wonder just why would they introduce so many things that weren't in the games to begin with? Sure, its fun to see all of the character's on screen like this, but why do they have to introduce us to other new character's, a new world, and so many other new things when you could of just made a movie about sonic, tails, and knuckles trying to stop eggman from destroying mobius, rather then setting up this sky world, the dark world, and- Okay, do you get what I mean?
π: 0 β©: 1
Aquatic-Angel In reply to AwsomeIsRed [2016-01-04 06:19:14 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I understand. but as my best friend's opinion: it's pretty cool they made a new world to have further creative freedom with the plot and etc rather than being limited to previous content. Archie did something similar. Also in defense of the film, I think it came out before sonic was putting out solid vg storylines, they were more "silent film" or implied types? i'm bad at explaining things too *shot*
my personal opinion is that it's interesting. I appreciate the creativity, but it's not my favorite variation of Sonic ever. Β I understand how it could've been the world(s) we were already familiar with but the worlds presented in the movie were pretty interesting anyway. so I didn't hate the movie at all, but I didn't LOVE it either.Β
I'm very much an artist and creative thinker, so even though it's an odd take on sonic I can still appreciate it for creativity I guess. Anyway, i'm sorry for replying so late! I hope you had a very very merry Christmas and a happy new year!
