A fun FFM prompt. Here is what I did with it...
The Amazing MindyDespite a few fatalities, everyone agreed that Mindy's first cookout was a roaring success. The Fire Fighters were quite appreciative of the bratwurst. The Police were particularly fond of the potato salad. The County Coroner enjoyed the sweet tea, a delicacy she hadn’t had since moving from Georgia.
Now some would argue that finding skeletons when digging a pit for an Hawaiian pig-bake would put a damper on the day. But Mindy had a special way about her that made anything seem to not be such a bad thing. Her eternal cheer and optimism sparkled brilliantly and pulled everyone around her up.
God, I hated her.
You have to understand that my disposition is not gloomy. I am not a pessimist. I prefer realist. It is just that people like Mindy make me very nervous. They refuse to deal with reality and only see the best. It is my opinion that these people make the world worse by glossing over problems that need to be fixed, not just reinterpreted in a positive light.

I had so many ideas when I first found that prompt, but I didn't like any of them enough to even attempt to write them out. I love what you did with it. And oddly enough, I believe the narrator when she (I pictured a woman) said that she is not a gloomy person nor a pessimist. I imagined her, when compared to Mindy who I am imagining is her next door neighbor, as an average person and maybe even a tiny bit resentful.
