Hey there, I'm Alys. I'm a digital artist and illustrator with a focus on photorealistic portraits. I love doing weird sci-fi and cyberpunk art.

My digital paintings are mainly created using Autodesk Sketchbook on a Samsung Galaxy Note tablet. Everything is drawn out bit by bit with the S Pen just like I would use a normal pen, marker or pencil. Until recently I'd only really done pencil sketches, so this is a big change for me but I enjoy it. Being able to complete a piece of art wherever I am is pretty awesome. I do have a lot to improve on, and I know I need to get bolder with my fine detail and take my time with my backgrounds. I'm really trying to slow down and make things more intricate. I'm still very much a student of art and learning is an ongoing process.

My writing is something I probably won't post here, but I have quite a bit on my website along with sketches and illustrations. It's all pretty dark and violent so I guess it's probably not too kid- or wimp-friendly. www.ScrimshankerGods.com

I joined DeviantArt to see who else I could connect with on a creative level. I do commissions and collaborations so feel free to ask. I'll draw just about anything. I'd really like to get to know other artistic people I can learn with while I expand my skills.

In addition to comments I am looking for real critiques rather than just loads of praise on every picture. I want my artwork to improve and I want to have input from other artists that might actually help me in the future. One of my trouble areas is big scenery, such as city backgrounds and "busy" forest areas.
