Yeah lol.
well.. I mean does anyone have plans... lol
haha
Well it would be cool to work at Direwolf, but I don't think I'll get in, at least right off the bat right after school.
But besides that,
I was planning on moving to Seattle actually, it's overal an amaizing place and good art/music scene out there. I in general like Washington too along with Organ. We have a friend who lives out there, so we will visit before we do any moving for sure- but this is also like a in two years from now thought. Also, Wizards of Coast and Bethesda is out there. Along with the Aristides Atelier school is in Seattle; that's over all what I want to go do no matter what, and there is none in Colorado, and there so happens to be two in Seattle. I will continue freelancing always, but while I wait to go there, I'll most likely just work at a Coffee Shop, or if I am lucky somewhere else that is good and pays nice money right after school.

Ooh well seattle seems like a good option for you then I have never been but I have always heard good things. Well I'm sure you will do great and find something that works well. It is too bad that Colorado doesn't have as much of a professional art scene as most would like.

Yeah
I mean I like Colorado, it's okay for an art scene, but else where is soooo much better lol.
Even for Brent it's better too else where, in all the obvious places it's better for us, like Washington, Organ, California, Florida, or all the east coast area etc, I've actually recently notice Canada has a great array of game artist in Quebec and Montreal - but I don't think I will be going there any time soon lol.

Ya I haven't really heard about Oregon but that makes sense I suppose. The east coast has the worst weather in the world though. Well, not Florida but ya xD Well I'm sure you'll find something that works great for you both! I am not sure where I am going to end up really, but I do like Colorado quite a bit. Ya I knew about game developers from montreal but hadnt really thought about it haha

Yeah, I don't want to do just do concept art, but I mean I have too do concept art I love it too much!, but I need to learn 3D programs for like 80% of the companies out there, so that's going to take some time, at least that's what I'm understanding. So Seattle or where ever on that side of the United States will have to be in a few years, because it is rather expensive.
Right now besides concept art, I want to do book cover art freelancing and any other commissions. I feel lucky I have some commissions piling up on me right now because I am pooooorrrrrr and the loans aren't going to get any better when I graduate. >.< I just got one that I'm integrating into my grad show recently and it really saved me, so I could afford foods and other important stuff. Brent is tight on money he just bought a new car, he had too, but he got what he wanted, a Mazda 3.

Well it seems like you have a plan, and even though money is tight it looks like you'll be making some soon and I'm sure Brent will be recuperating his expenses too so it'll be okay ^^

Are you going to try for concept art at all too?

Acopalypse In reply to DymondStarr [2013-02-03 16:04:20 +0000 UTC]
Eh probably not, my style doesn't really adhere to trational concept art standards, I think I'll just stick to graphic novels and such when I get around to it haha. but alot of people I graduated with are going the concept art route for sure

I know! It's stressful, I'm like ughhh! I have to compete with the people who have recently graduated! They are reallllllly F'ing good!!! But I'll keep fighting and trying to get better at what I do... so hopefully some where not to far in the world I will have a chance ...
I figured you would do comic/ graphic novel types of work, your work does adhere to childrens book, but you could easily do it!

Acopalypse In reply to DymondStarr [2013-02-03 22:13:51 +0000 UTC]
Ah ya and childrens books, forgot about those haha. But ya, I think it's really at this point about how much time you can commit to your getting better, I mean this guy Anthony Jones has only been drawing for 5 years and is now getting pretty big in the world, but he has just committed so much of his time to his self improvement. watch him here if you want ^^ [link] But ya, you'll be fine, just gotta keep going. Your stuff looks alot better than it did back when I was still around!

Oh
I just googled his work, I have indeed seen some of it, it's pretty awesome!
lol I will check him out, thanks for sharing ^.^ Did you listen to Chris Oakly's and Bobby Chu's bit about improvement and motivation etc. ...?
Haha, yeah? Well hopefully it will look even better next year or EVEN This year.. I hope . After my Life painting class with Dave last semester, I feel like drawing is so much more important then I had ever thought, like I know obviously know it's important but even more so then I thought before..
Do you have one of those Behance sites?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Acopalypse In reply to DymondStarr [2013-02-04 02:28:57 +0000 UTC]
I haven't heard that improvement motivation thing by Bobby Chiu. It will look better! Yes drawing is pretty important, but I mean as long as you know where everything is supposed to go then sometimes you dont need the drawing, but drawing in general helps you understand what you're looking at I find ^^.
I do have one of those behance sites, I dont think I really have anything on it..... I could check haha. Its got a link on my website

Busy, stressful, and shit. So par for the course really. Pretty lonely out here on the east, but I'm working on that whole friends thing, and I believe I have come into contact with a couple individuals who don't hate me, so that's good. Seems like you're getting work tho! So that's good.

Work... Not so much. Working at Michael's at the moment and doing my MFA. I have to move to Georgia in a year to finish it out. Not looking forward to that so much. Pfffft. No one should hate you, you're lovely inside and out. I miss getting hot chocolate with you and dicking around in class. How is your degree going?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Acopalypse In reply to saemful [2012-10-10 17:13:40 +0000 UTC]
Why do you have to move to finish it? I have been having trouble finding good hot chocolate here, and I have separate campuses so sometimes I'm not even close to any food/drink place at all
Ehhh, classes are good I guess, only just now getting some of my books, so much reading and the teaching is a little bit lacking I feel, so I guess we're supposed to mainly learn from readings, then use class to talk about our feelings xD. Not that bad, well sometimes, but usually not that bad. I still haven't found an internship, which is required for both years so that's super stressful. AAaaaannnddd ya, idk, just busy and not knowing anyone and yup.

Well, I'm enrolled in the MA program which you're able to complete online but I really want my MFA. I have to complete that on ground. It won't be that bad, really, once I get to doing it but ugh....Georgia. *sends you hot chocolate* I've had somewhat similar feelings about my classes, only a lot of it is 'why are you in this program if you can't even freakin' draw?' It has made me appreciate the education we got from RMCAD if nothing else. What kind of internship are you needing? *many hugs* That's one of the things that has me nervous about moving to Georgia. I won't know anyone! I don't socialize well when I'm out of my element.

Yaaa I am one of I think 2 illustrators in my program, but idk how well the other does drawing etc, and everyone else is content to scribble. Idk about the art therapy modality, but they didn't seem like their technical skills were super developed but *shrug*. Hooray rmcad learnings. I need a clinical internship thing. Basically there are sites, like hopsices, hospitals, day programs, learning centers, nursing homes, etc. that deal with all different ages and demographics. I would prefer to work with children but at this point its just whatever I can get. Just about everywhere though you end up having to manage group session things aaanndd stuff. BLAH so stressful, not knowing exactly whats going on is the worst part. But ya I like don't really have any friends, just people I see at school sometimes who can be nice. But I'm always home alone during my free time so wheeeeeee.
