No way... Actually I'm wondering if the guy is a goon, because a couple years ago we had a Dead Bird Society thread and lots of folks contributed. His art is vaguely familiar.

Anyhow, yeah, 'Fowl Fraternity' just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Oh hey! I know I have a handful of goon followers from DBS, but I forget who's who on here.

Thanks for letting me know. I'm thinking of asking him if he knows about the Dead Bird Society, but it's not close enough to my work for me to be crying art thief or anything. There were gentleman animals long before DBS.

Hmm, some really good ones are Alphaville, Leiahdorus, Ultravox and Visage. (Ultravox and Visage are late 70s/early 80s and also fall under new wave. Alphaville's early stuff is super gushy 80s, so if you're not into 80s music seek out their later stuff). Others I listen to include De/Vision, Ladytron, and Melotron.

Of course Ladytron is electro pop, which is quite different to the trance-based European futurepop drivel that is Melotron and De/Vision. I wuold would like the new wave stuff, but the wobbly London-accented vocals annoy me too much. I had enough of that from The Cure.

Eh, I've never been the biggest fan of Cure-style vocals. I'm a sucker for quality, melodic vocals. None of these bands are guilty of excess British-ness.

Also, Midge Ure-era Ultravox and Visage are pretty much the roots of Ladytron. They even use the same equipment.
