They look great.They are hard to do at that size for sure...and you did a bunch of them. But alas...most artists will never be satisfied with their own work...but that's what makes for improvement.

They are really hard; and I thought it was going to be easier. Psh...
They just (to me) don't look as good as other portraits I've done, and because they're of family, it sucks. And I still have a minimum of 8 to go.

Well the problem i ran into is they take about the same amount of time as a larger one. when you find that your sharpening your .3 pencil to get the details.....whew...thats a bkt much. they look fine

Thanks! I should have been working on that one and finish it. Originally did it at one of the MLAA meetings in '09. Yeah, I think it's time to finish it. lol

Your sequential work is already pretty strong. I'd consider getting out some indy stuff, and bringing it to the attention of some of the smaller (though not tiny) publishers like Image, Dark Horse, Dynamite, Boom!, Top Shelf and Xenoscope. Kirkman has been hiring off of artists alleys, so this is a good time to be you.

Thank you. I am currently working on a project, samples are posted, that will help develop a portfolio. I'm hoping that work, to be posted as a web comic, will get me on board with some of those small publishers you speak of. Does that cover the indy stuff or are you suggesting something else? I will have to take a look at Artists Alleys and Kirkman...I am just not branching out so this is good info. Thanks!

You can always self-publish, like I'm doing. That's as indy as you get, and it gets you a lot of respect. But be forewarned. The parts that you think will be a piece of cake turn out to be a nightmare. If you're thinking about doing it, I'd be more than happy to help you negotiate the pitfalls. Frankly, no one makes a dime on webcomics. Why do you think the three or four "big dogs" all publish through Image or Devils Due and go to dozens of cons?

Yeah - it was completely my fault. I had intended to use one picture and had written in the attribution, then found yours (infinitely better) and forgot to change the attribution. Again - I apologize for the screw up. No profits were made.
