The camera that you suggested the, Minolta SRT 201 35mm. Would it be good for plants and flowers also??

Oh yeah! You may want to find a macro lens for it if you want to do a lot of that, but it should definitely work. The nice thing about those cameras is that they are old and accessories can be pretty cheap.
[link] This one's something like $30 and it'd be great for all sorts of nature photography! The 85-210mm means that it will have a bit of magnification, so it wouldn't be ideal for landscapes (cause the more magnified your image is, the narrower the field of view is), but it'd be great for plants and animals!

... just as a thought.... after looking at your gallery. Did you already try #Caffenol ?

It would seem you have!
It seems to be intimidating, but I'm sure it's not terrible.
What was your biggest stumbling block?

Picture-Bandit In reply to Alternate-Deviant [2011-05-18 08:48:32 +0000 UTC]
Getting the supplies in Switzerland was harder than I thought possible... everyone is on digital and self-developing kits went out of fashion with a flash.
After I got the stuff (including chemical fixer from ilford), I had some other concerns. I don't think this will be your problem
I am in fact a bit of a klutz, so I was nervous concerning the handling of chemicals, the right mixture etc. What I think I know now seems to have worked the first try.
Surprisingly extracting the film and rolling it within the darkroom-bag is simple (I would suggest a patterson daylight tank with plastic-reels) and the proffessional film retractor is worth it's wheight in gold
The prepartion for the developing was the most time consuming. I had to gather quite a lot of gear and mark it as "NON-FOOD-CONTAINERS", jugs, glasses, stirr-thingies.
Once the chemicals where mixed and I was turning the tank... everything was ok... but next time, rubber gloves and eye-protection! darn newbie mistakes...
For closer information on recepies and more details you can sometimes check out my ~Caffenol-Bandit journal. Where I try to give a first-steps-recount of my experiences.
Thanks for the interest

Hah, very good!
Good news is that I bought a darkroom setup from a photojournalist who went digital, so I already have most of the supplies I need (except the film extractor, I just use a can opener). I want to start this business up over the summer so hopefully we'll be able to compare notes and photos!

yes.... my alter-ego ~Caffenol-Bandit has developed his first roll of film... With Coffee and vitamin-c, quite mad... and not as smelly as I thought.
But since I was sure that my first film developing would go horribly wrong; I did not pay much attention with my first film, just wished it to be full to try it
Now another one is waiting in the daylight tank.
But slowly I get a feel for who to ask about caffenol it seems

Hahah, very good!
My only hesitation is that I already have all the chem I need to develop film normally. But I'd still like to try this, cause it seems cool.

So I hear, that's exciting!
Sadly I will not be able to go for it. =/ I've been busy too, with photography. SO busy, in fact, that I decided to drop Japanese till I can actually spend some time on it.

Hey! I just stumbled upon your gallery and I gotta say I love your style! It's so clean and bold, and at the same time just darned fun to look at! Have you ever seen Stephan Bucher's Daily Monster project? He draws tons of the little guys in ink, and his style is similar to yours. Check out one of his (many) monsters: link
