# About me
Hi.
I'm not good at bios, so I'll just make a list. I'll try to be interesting, but I can't make any promises.
Music is a big part of my life. My favourite bands/artists (in no particular order) are David Bowie, Arcade Fire, and Lana Del Rey.
I also love Elbow, Muse, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Blondie, ELO, Pulp, Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Mumford and Sons, Caravan Palace, The Rolling Stones, Duran Duran, Simon and Garfunkel, The Cure, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac, MGMT, Led Zepplin, Radiohead, Queen, and The Who, and enjoy some Alice Cooper, ABBA, Bee Gees, Billy Joel, Dido, Guns 'n' Roses, Eurythmics, The Horrors, Meatloaf, Mott the Hoople, The Wombats, Panic at the Disco, Manic Street Preachers, People in Planes, and My Morning Jacket. I really love jazz and swing but I'm not knowledgeable enough about them to say that I like any particular artists. I also love movie soundtracks, and I enjoy orchestral and classical music of other sorts, but as with jazz I don't know that I have particular favourite composers.
Fan of: Studio Ghibli, Harry Potter, Doctor Who (especially David Tennant era), Pokemon, Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, Steampunk, Japanese cooking (especially bento), literature.
Favourite books: Nabokov's 'Lolita', Fitzgerald's 'The Great Gatsby', Bronte's 'Wuthering Heights', D H Lawrence's 'The Rainbow' and 'Women in Love', Woolf's 'Orlando', Hogg's 'The Private Confessions and Memoirs of a Justified Sinner', J M Barrie's 'Peter Pan'.

I'm a vegetarian for ethical reasons.
My favourite foods are probably pizza, macaroni cheese, lasagne (with soya mince, obviously), warm cookies, and ice-cream.
Misc:
I like to stay pale.
I will take any excuse to wear a costume.
I studied at the University of Oxford.
I'm a chronic procrastinator.
I would love to travel, especially in the East - particularly Japan - and in the US. I have a fantasy of a sort of month-long road trip all over the US. Also North somewhere snowy with northern lights, and Germany and Switzerland, and the old parts of Italy, and all over the place.
I'm a singer.
I'm an atheist.
If I could choose a super power, it would be shape-shifting.

You're welcome. It expressed something similar to what I feel. I'm intrigued by the vastness and complexity of the universe, but it often makes me feel quite small and lost. I loved the contrast between that and the comfortably mundane contemplation of hash browns.
It's nice to find thoughts which are in my own head in someone else's literature.
