Hailing from Gekido Town, Irene was from a family of wool merchants. However, she knew they had to fall one day. Her parents were falling sick to Ikido Disease, a disease found on shepards and wool merchants. Wanting to help her family, she spent weeks in the fields, letting her sheep graze, contemplating a solution. One of her sheep, Mr. Hubert, started acting up, before dying from snake venom. Upon investigating, she discovered a winged serpent. It offers to ensure her family's future, in return for her soul. She agreed, and he handed her her lasso and wings.
As she went on, she continued her technique, gaining a vast amount of money for her family to find a cure. However, she grew more and more rude and cold. Some guessed it was from the lack of sleep she got, but it was anything but.
She had little competition in her field. Any potential rivals were chased out. However, a rather cute merchant, Paul, remained. She was in love with him, but didn't want to fight him so readily.
One day, she decided to try to let him in, and began to talk to him. After a while, she trusted him with her forbidden technique. She led him and a sheep to a nearby cliff, demonstrating her power. Terrified, Paul tried to run, only for Irene to stop him. She then did the same to him.
Her secret slowly unravels. A choir boy tries to find her secret, only for her to strand him on an island. His disappearance caused an investigation, causing her to pick off the residents. The serpent knows her power, and took control of her body, ready to take her to Hell. He led her to the cliff she threw people off, and forced her to kill herself.
She left behind a ghost town, all except her parents, who received the cure for the disease. They were confused of the quiet town.

Hmm......it appears different worlds have different versions of the sins. Same at the core, but different at the shell.

We need to eat to survive, so what counts as gluttony?
- Praepropere β eating too soon
- Laute β eating too expensively
- Nimis β eating too much
- Ardenter β eating too eagerly
- Studiose β eating too daintily
- Forente β eating wildly
apparently "eating too daintily" is gluttony, so im confused on what temperance is supposed to be. lmao just thought you'd want to know since i found this

altreligion.about.com/od/belieβ¦
describes the sins well. id be surprised if satanism had virtues, though. they seem to be all "keep to yourself and don't be a huge ass" not "if you aren't a picture perfect person you shall not succeed" (this website sure as hell looks suspicious when it comes to viruses, so i can copy the descriptions, unless youd rather read the less well described versions below)
feastofhateandfear.com/archiveβ¦
this website is suspicious (to other people anyway, im not sure about viruses) and a HUGE eyesore, but it has the Statements, Sins and Rules of the Earth. idk about the statements but the Rules of the Earth are definitely worth a look bc it enforces "keep to yourself and don't be a huge ass" very well.

the Nine Satanic Sins
1. Stupidity
2. Pretentiousness
3. Solipsism (a variation of selfishness - but more of a theory or belief)
4. Self-deceit (lying to oneself)
5. Herd conformity
6. Lack of perspective ("inside the box")
7. Forgetfulness of past orthodoxies (ill look these up later)
8. Counterproductive pride
9. Lack of aesthetics ("no style" but not in the pretentious way. rather in the blank, boring and empty sort of way i think?) (ill look these up later)
which of the seven sins can also count as a satanic sin? Superbia and Acedia are definitely described here (Acedia more than one)

(Self-deceit. TOTALLY Invidia.
Forgetfulness of past orthodoxies. Ira.
None can fall into 'stupidity' or 'herd conformity'.
I'll look them up too.)

shunzitaco In reply to AskTheSevenSinners [2015-01-09 01:58:52 +0000 UTC]
are you sure? herd conformity seems like something that might describe invidia too - it has something to do with going with the norm even though youd feel more comfortable otherwise. its okay if you feel best with the norm, but doing something youre uncomfortable with in "herd conformity" and pretending to be okay with it is on par with self-deceit and why its considered a sin. that doesnt mean it actually describes invidia though, i just feel like it might also apply somehow
stupidity, on the other hand, might actually be Gula - because when they refer to stupidity, they mostly refer to ignorance. as described here:
altreligion.about.com/od/belieβ¦
"Satanists strive to keep themselves informed and to not be fooled by others who seek to manipulate and use them."
You can't blame someone for not realizing that they're being used or lied to, because not everyone is as perceptive. This one I don't really agree with, but I don't really agree with all of the Christian sins either so
I'm really just inferring stuff about your characters when it comes to these though

Body shape headcannons bc i have nothing better to do lmao
Luxuria: Hourglass figure. No thigh gap.
Castisas: Skinny, but has thick legs like ma
Gula: Big fat and muscly. an impenetrable wall. makes a truly great guard.
Temperentia: Tall and lean, built for speed and agility rather than strength and center.
Avaritia: a mish mash of jock and nerd. fear him
Caritas: a fat girl, generally the type of girl both jocks and nerds have a tendency to hate bc they're fat. fuck you, avaritia
Acedia: short and a bit chubby. looks shorter because he slumps like 100% of the time
Industria: short and a bit chubby, literally the same as Acedia but always looks taller bc SHE DOES THE SUPERWOMAN - SUPERMAN THING HELL YEAH
Ira: tall but stocky. Looks like a giant, overpowering and intimidating rectangle
Paul: smaller rectangle, only as tall as Ira's shoulder. strong tho, like Ira
Invidia: Scarily skinny (oops thats another headcannon shes self conscious about her weight and has bulimia) and is of an average height
Humanitas: Has a pear shaped figure (comparitively large hips, thick legs and usually mistaken for being overweight (its not)) and is naturally tall
Superbia: Small child.
Humilitas: Somewhat bigger child.
Yin: a disney villain trope. big, round, and has a lot of ugly features that heroes ~magically~ lack
Yang: disney princess trope. Unrealisitcally skinny. has sharp attractive and perfect features.
(excuse the length)

Upen: Hmph.
Ipen: I definitely, totally knew he was going to say that.
Upen: I have no faith. This is why Querin is far more popular than me.
Ipen: And you think that's the reason? Everyone is afraid of the dark.
Krein: We are the twelve spirits. We are not gods, nor morons.
Ritmoth: We are also known as the Council of Twelve. Organization, anyone?
Ritmoth: Though you might think that nature is wild, you might be surprised at what feats we go through to keep everything balanced.

Learyn: [rolls eyes]
Krein: ...I guess you're right, but as a Resident of Life I have full reason to hate a king who tears down forests and supports "controlled" farming.

Ritmoth: Airships, huh? How about flying snakes? And I'm not talking about dragons. I am the literal father of all snake-birds, killer insectoids, elastic arm golems, strange mimicking cats, long-necked deer and turtle-whales with ponytails. How's that?
Querin: That's incorrect. You are by spiritually meaning, but not literally.
Tritani: The snake-birds are my children.
Polymos: Yours? I think you mean ours.
Tritani: We're divorced and custody automatically goes to the mother, loser.
Polymos: Ooh, and who made up that lame ass rule? You're a horrible mother. You're so cold you give them frostbite, and it's true!
Tritani: Says the guy who fucks anybody who gives them even a hint of attraction.
Ethane: False. I never liked Polymos one bit but they will never leave me alone.
Polymos: Ah, but you're sexy, and it's not my fault you're attracting.

Querin: Under Fait's name, only supreme acts of misconduct can be held accountable. These include only murder, likeness towards death and the destruction of the spirit gates. Do you understand this, Tritani? You should know.

Querin: The Grey Realm is where all spirits go when they shed their skin, also known as the land of the dead. But more importantly, it is the realm that Aytres thrives in and Aetryste and Ytumis, the Rulers of Truth, were banished to.
Querin: I honestly assume this because sins and virtues are like what the Rulers of Truth would make up to direct the order of the world.
