Hey about your signature... Not that I'm for/against that or anything (I really don't know enough about anything furry to have a viewpoint), but do you get flamed for that? :/
Please excuse my ignorance, I've just seen a lot of that on other sites, although it has been quite ridiculous actually (the flamers, I mean). So I don't really know. Sorry if I'm bothering you in some way, I just don't really much about the non-hater viewpoint and have no idea where to find information on the fandom itself.
Though on second thought, if I'm wrong in equating 'yiff' with furry, that may also reflect my lack of education. T.T

Nope, no ones bugged me about it yet.
And though it's associated with Furry Fandom for being a term of sexuality, "Yiff" is actually the noise young foxes make when their playing. So essentially, loving to Yiff, is loving to Play. The fandom and fur-haters have twisted the meaning to suit there own personal reasons, but then again, it's not clear on what kind of "Play" it could mean. Weather it's fooling around in a game, or being sexual with someone, both definitions fit the word Yiff.
As for me, I'm openly sexual since I'm not a very shy or shameful person. It means both for me. I "Yiff" for fun and pleasure.

I've always been kind of intrigued by the art and writing that comes out of the Furry Fandom, but I still don't really know much about it. I don't want to be nosy or anything, but what do people actually do within the fandom? It's hard to really see much from outside.

Normal things, anything others would do. We just... add fur to it. There's furry sports, which is extremely dangerous I might add, especially in the summer when it's easy to over heat outside of costume, let alone in costume.
I don't think I can speak for the entire fandom... but what I do know is universal in the fur fandom is being extremely Random with what we'll do with other furs. Large groupings tend to party a lot, even if it wasn't intended to be a party. A normal get together from my experiance, has turned into a party for something we randomly decided to celebrate. Once we had a party for the sake of the fact that Cake was made all year round... best cake ever.
If you'd like to get an inside look on the furry fandom, I suggest you listen to a Furry Podcast. check out page. Right at the top is a link to her podcast that she does with a group of her friends. It's called ACTFur on air. It's a very entertaining show that tackles Furry subjects, and various other topics. There's no better way to find out what furries are like, then to listen to what furries do. Plus, Carni there is an amazing artist.
