but there's still a good chunk of not so terrible out there, I feel
we've come a decent way despite all the 'weird', and in time I think we can go a bit farther

i wouldn't exactly call it edge
it's a bit darker of a view, but not especially edgy
you feel there's threat of nuclear war, society growing colder, and a rising power the probably doesn't have everyone's best interests at heart coming to control because of it
things have been a bit, off the rails so i can see why you might hold opinions like that
edgy would be like
'we have entirely failed as a society and it's probably for the best that we destroy ourselves'
