okay, was the entire vet thing also part of the reference? i'm afraid i haven't watched Dexter (unless you mean Dexter's Laboratory). i'm a bit too weak for scary stuff

Yes, vetting is a term used in the show that refers to following an individual around and collecting and analyzing data gathered from what they do, where they go, etc.

After just 20 minutes or so looking at your gallery I've become infatuated with your words. I can only hope with enough time and practice I can achieve a portion of what you have in the art.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

alexiscaitlinking In reply to BetweenTheEchoes [2011-10-05 02:54:25 +0000 UTC]

Twenty minutes is an awfully long time to look at one thing, even if it is an entire gallery. I really appreciate it.
Not only that, but I really appreciate your kind words. I never knew my words could have that sort of impact on someone. I always vied for it, but never knew it would happen. Thank you, from the bottom of my soul.

Keep writing, my friend. And if you ever need help, just let me know, I'll certainly do whatever I can.

BetweenTheEchoes In reply to alexiscaitlinking [2011-10-07 03:25:40 +0000 UTC]

I can certainly sympathize with you on the attempt to have such an impact on someone with pieces you have written.

I appreciate the appreciation, but pieces like Second-Long Thought really do embody the level of poetic ability I desire. I'm really trying to get into that mindset of viewing the world through analogies and having a good control of words so that I can produce truly vivid imagery. I need to write more. Ever since I began playing around with the art I've invested almost no time into writing or learning how to improve it. Though I do try to make everything I learn stick and stretch the knowledge as much as possible.

As a side note, I think that, in some form, we may have (or possibly make attempts to play around with) very similar styles or voices.

alexiscaitlinking In reply to BetweenTheEchoes [2011-10-09 02:17:03 +0000 UTC]

Well, on that note, I'd really like to keep in contact! If you ever feel like you need help with anything, feel free to ask. I'll try my best to help where I can!

Learning new things is one of the most important parts of self-improvement in anything, not only writing.

Again, thank you so much. You're words have really touched me.

Whenever you have the chance or feel like it–it would be wonderful if you can tell me what liked or didn't like about the piece so that I can improve my writing for next time.
