I've been looking through your art and my art as of recent and I'm kind of wondering what the heck happened to our styles and why they ended up so drastically different. When we first met five years ago, we both had that kind of grossly cute art style. Now your style has evolved into a very expressive, upbeat, and cartoony style while I ended up leaning more towards realism and darker themes. We share most of the same influences in art and cartoons, it's just very interesting how our results ended up being so different.

That is a strange thing to note. I think that while our original inspirations were similar, along the way we found different inspirations that took our styles in completely different directions. For example, I think in 2013, I started taking style inspiration fromΒ this artist Β andΒ this artist Β - obviously I'm no where near their skill, but looking at their styles gave me a direction I wanted to head in, while of course staying true to myself. And along the way you too must've noted other artists or at least had certain events or ways to pinpoint your change in style as well. I don't doubt that in a few years, both of our styles will evolve even further - and we'll be twice as baffled then!Β

I noticed that we're sort of both the leader of our own Haddix sect. You're like the number 1 awesome leader of the Missing Series fandom and I'm the number one and only leader of the Shadow Children Sequence fandom. Like, we both cross each others territory often but still. Maybe the next Haddix series will be RED and Jenny: Superstar Saga. It'll just be about us throwing out dumb fanart, headcanons, crack AUs, and theories about the respective series and Haddix reacting to it. 10/10 book series it would just be s***posting in literature forum.

And YEESSS I have high hopes that we can band together in mutual love once more for the next series she publishes (or rather, the next 2, as she keeps pointing out on Facebook her 2 planned series, both of which I still have 0 idea of what they're about.)

We should combine our fandoms and make one still very small fandom. I'll get some shadow kiddos, you could get some missing fans, and we could reccomend the series and similar ones. And when the time comes, we could have more people excited over her new series along with loving the old ones. Also, have you talked to Haddix on facebook? You don't seem like the person who would have FB tbh.

That's a very good idea. A lot of the people in the Missing fandom have read the Shadow Children sequence. All that's needed is to join together. To combine our love of both old series and (hopefully) both new series. And no, I've never talked to Mrs. Haddix on Facebook, and you're right I don't have a Facebook. I just hover around on her page because I like to see what she posts. I've seen you reply to a few of her posts though. Makes me wish guests could like comments!

I don't really know too many people in the Missing Series community and I think it would be kind of weird if I just went to their profile and was like "HEYAGUYZWANNATALKABOUTTHEMSHADOWKIDDIES". So maybe you could introduce me? And that's what I thought tbh. Maybe you could make an account and use your alias instead of your real name? I have a few friends who personally do that and it's actually quite a nice way to have contact with internet friends. Plus you could interact with Haddix if you'd like.

I'm almost done with my side of our little art trade and it will most likely be up soon. I've also done some work on Morning Glory! Anyway, that's besides the point. How are you doing?

Sorry I'm replying to you so late, (insert excuse here) I've been mostly offline trying to finish all my summer work. Psshh who needs Tumblr anyways, I like talking to you on here better anyways - it's easier to manage. Hopefully we'll be able to do more of that. And aaaahhhhh everytime I try to start my side of the art trade, I'm overcome in flipping feeeeels whydidyoudothistomeeeeeeeeeee. Hopefully I can get over that soon and actually progress past a sketch. And yes! It's exciting to know that you're making progress on the story!Β
As for me, I'm trying to finish my AP portfolio work and English work as quickly as possible, but they took down all the info for the English work from the school website, so I'm panicking a bit as I forgot what I needed to do. Heh ehehehh...

Oh no no, it's totally okay! I've been busy with math and I was kind of in Lebanon for the past three weeks so my ability to communicate has been rather bad. So even if you did reply earlier, I most likely wouldn't have seen it because we're still on Dial Up over there. And yeah, who needs Tumblr? The community on here is much nicer I never thought I'd be saying that to be honest and communication is easier. And I really do hope we start doing that too!
Shoot man I'm actually giving people feels about my dumb AU/Continuation thingy I've got going on here and I haven't even posted the prologue. The fact that I'm adding a lot more content with Matthis, Percy, Alia, Nina, and Trey may hinder the story's production even more though. I've made it so Luke and Jen centric for such a long time but I realized that "Morning Glory" was starting to turn into a Nicolas Sparks book and that wasn't the point. I didn't want it to seem like I just brought Jen back to be Luke's love interest. I didn't want to make so many of the characters OOC, completely ignore others, and mold it so it just became some stupid love story with badly added in trauma for a shock factor. So I actually have been sitting down and doing as much research as I could on the sensitive topics mentioned in "Morning Glory". I also need to develop what to do with Nina, Trey, Matthis, Percy, and Alia. I've had a few ideas which include Matthis, Percy, and Alia struggling to get themselves stabilized and started in the real world since their only guardian had passed on and having them split up only to reunite later. Or maybe Alia could move in with Trey and his mother and Matthis and Percy with Nina and her aunts. I also need to look into their struggles throughout the series (like Nina's problems with relationships and trust, Percy's heavily relying on his faith and not trying to work things out, and Trey's problems with standing up for himself and growing into the person he needs to be) and implement it into their lives as they continue to grow up over the years. Jen is defiantly the most developed with her arc of trying to redeem herself in her family's and friend's eyes (even though she doesn't need to do any of that) and hiding away her emotions and trauma she experienced in the camps while putting the ones she loves first so she can be a "perfect" leader. This ends up completely destroying her. All their struggles will by the time we get to the third section, but Jen's will be the most obvious.
I also have a few other plans including OCs, a new Skype group for the gang and original characters to discuss politics and such, and a complete overhaul of the third arc which consists of the main gang going AWOL and hiding out in a west coast city ( most likely going to be in Washington since I headcanon the gang lives in Montana) after Krackunar starts becoming more of a threat. The twins will show up, don't worry actually, do worry because I'm making this worse for them than before because I'm a prick but circumstances are going to be a lot more frightening for everybody involved. And lastly, I've set some headcanons like Jen being ambidextrous, Luke and Trey growing out their hair as they get older, Luke living in a Christan household, and Alia wanting to work in a medical field when she's older. I do have some problems though, I can't recall every bodies age in comparison to one another. I know Luke is a year younger than Jen, Alia is the youngest, but I can't recall how old Percy is and I'm uncertain about Nina, Trey, and Matthis but I'm guessing Nina and Trey are two years older than Luke and Matthis is one year younger than Luke.
And oh man, English absolutely sucks. I've personally never striven in English classes. And they took down the info? Can't you email your teachers about it or something. My school has the emails of all the teachers that work there on their website, but my school is quite a bit smaller I'd assume.
Overall I've been doing okay, I've been working on my side of the trade and other art projects. Maybe you could show me your sketch.
