Isn't it? The voices of the characters in every version I've heard have all been phenomenal. I actually saw it in the theater about a month ago. It was amazing.
I have to say that I like Mme. Thernadier the best. She's such a ridiculous character, yet has a definite depth to her, doesn't she?

I have NOT read the book yet, I'm so jealous of you! But rest assured, this summer Les Mis will be in my lap. I'm going to read it cover to cover! Out of your choices, I think that I like Valjean the best. I mean, hes such a well-developed, caring character. I love his attitude towards life, and the way that he treats others. I don't like Javert at ALL because of the way he treats normal people like Valjean who simply stole a loaf of bread. Marius is pretty cool, and Eponine is such a beautiful young lady. I like em all - except Javert. ...

Mme. Thenardier DEFINITELY has depth! But I gotta admit, I like who most people like, nothing original here...I can't decide between Valjean/Javert/Marius/Eponine...*sigh* So hard to pick!!
