Hi,
your photos are beautiful! I've been in Australia for 5 month and it was amazing. I love birds, and the Australian birds are sooo nice. When I saw your avatar, I thought "oh, a scarlet robin! bet this person lives in AUS!"
Please take more wonderful bird photos, I'll watch you
Have a great day,

Good day to you.
I would like to ask you, may I use your amazing pictures as reference for my artworks?
I'm a wildlife artist and I use pictures to try to create life-like paintings and drawings. I do not use pictures for anything other than art creation.
Please let me know you answer as soon as possible!

your gallery is so great!
you own a canon 300mm 2.8 lens right? I might buy this lens and a 2x teleconverter. Is this combination good?

Thank you
Yes, I use the EF 300mm f/2.8 with Canon 2x TC on Canon's EOS50D and it's a sensational combo.

unbelievablex In reply to Craig-Miller [2009-06-24 12:31:58 +0000 UTC]
I'm undecided. There are 3 lenses in my choice. The Canon 400mm 5.6L with 1,5x Kenko TC, the Canon 300mm 2.8 non IS L with the 1,4x or 2x TC, or the Sigma 500mm 4.5 with TC.
The 300mm 2.8 and the 500mm 4.5 are about 2800$ second hand, the 400mm is about 1700$.
I absolutly don't know, but the 400mm L with TC would be a compromise only.

The 400/5.6 will not retail AF with the 1.4x tc attached.. I would test the non-IS lenses first as 600mm and no IS is a very tricking combo. I have managed to get sharp images at 600mm down to 1/100th! Not possible without IS.

I know somebody, and he owns the 400mm L and the 1,5x Kenko, and it works. The AF is slower, but still good enough. The 1,5x Kenko (not the 1,4x) doesn't report infos to the camera/body, so the camera thinks the aperture is still 5.6.
A lens with IS is too expensive, I don't got enough money to buy such a lens.
