unfortunately the messenger discovery extras like webcam recording don't work with it
is there a way to fix that?

Not at the moment, I tried my best to make most of the discovery features work but yeah the animation effects really break some of discovery's buttons still. I don't think I will come up with a fix for 8.5 since I am on 9 now and I got other stuff going on.

you need Windows Live Messenger 8.5 and the latest Messenger Plus! Live. [link]
All you do is simply run the .plsk file and it will import the skin and enable it if you tick "enable after import". Please remember that any changes you make (options etc) need a reboot of wlm to be seen. You can switch skins via the Messenger Plus! Preferences window.

Hey man, its good to hear you have an interest in learning how to vectorize but I'm not really the best person to teach anything. Like while I appreciate the kind comments about my work but I don't really have the time to teach what with work and all.
But I'll tell you the way I learnt what I know.
I didn't follow any tutorials at all to learn what I learnt. Whilst they did cover a bit of Adobe Illustrator in my course at university, the majority was just me playing around with stuff.
The best way to learn is to trace photos, first you start small with something simple like a cartoon character. Then you just continue by seeing how you could improve the image you did.
I just kept making images and with each one I did I would try to add more detail or use a different method to do the same thing. After a while you start to build up your own style and methods and you begin to play with more advanced things.
What I would recommend you do is look into and experiment with the following tools (for Adobe Illustrator if you have it):
Pen Tool
Shape Tool
Path Finder Tool
Blend Tool
Gradient Tool (try to make a detailed image using simple gradients)
Opacity Masks
Filters (the vector ones not the blurs and glows)
Gradient Mesh Tool
One of the best investments you can make if you have the means is purchasing a graphics tablet (especially a wacom). These can help give your work a totally different feel.
The best piece of advice that I got when I was at school was that tutorials can only take you so far, it is ultimately up to your own creativity and perseverance that will make you great.

Ev0 2.0 is no longer available for download since 3.0 is out and is a lot better. 2.0 had problems and that is why I am no longer having it available for download.
I'm sorry but you will just have to update to 8.5 if you want to use Ev0.

Yo dude, Windows Aero Messenger theme for Plus! is awesome. Just wondering though, it works perfectly on my XP computer but I try it with my Vista laptop and it spazzes out when I try and import it. Wondering whether you need to install it another way or something? Any help greatly appreciated, and keep p the good skins

Make sure you have WLM 8.5 and Messenger Plus! live 4.60 on your laptop, because if you don't it wont work.

Skinning messenger 8.0 is a lot different to skinning messenger 7.5, the problem is that Microsoft has developed a new image format to prevent people from skinning. Because nobody has been able to crack this format it means that we can skin but a lot of sections will remain unchanged.
If it werent for that I would have made a messenger 8.0 version a Looooonnnnnnnnnng time ago. So yeh don't expect anything anytime soon.
