Sorry it's taken so long. Been bad storms in my area and PC has been down. I must say I really enjoy your artwork but I think you need to work harder on your scripts and delivery between the words and character actions. I see where you're going with what you're trying to achieve but I didn't find anything entertaining or funny but I think it's in the writing. With a little bit of elbow grease and determination, I think you can be really good.

Yeah, exactly what I thought it was, I agree completely, I get lost in my scripts. I believe that my last one (a how-to comic strip about creating webcomics) I do better, but even that one can be improved.

Thank you very much, it helps a lot. Now I'm certain that my goal is to improve the story, above all. Thank you for your honest words and your advice, really!!!

If you need anything from me, just ask, I will be more than glad to help.

Cheers,

Daniel.

Yep, it looks better, although it is still darker than I thought. Of course, Nintendo always uses the most bright colors, so I guess it is a matter of mental association.

Btw, I just started the dA group for my webcomic, if you happen to like my comic strips, please take a peek and join us:

Thank you!!

Still impossile, now it is "not accepting new administrators".

Not sure what that means...

Hi Daniel, you asked for some feedback. Technically you're very good at drawing cartoons and I like your clean style, I personally find it's better to draw my characters first then scan them into my Pc to add lettering etc, this way they still maintain the drawn look.Do you sketch yours first? Your gallery doesn't seem to be very big, if you have other work to add, even if it's in another style or even rough work, then add it to give folks an idea of what else you can do. At the end of the day with cartoons it's the characters and gags that are most important, not the technical style of a strip, so my only advice to you is to loosen up your style and steer away from the computer when creating your artwork, just use it as a clean up tool. I hope you're not offended!

Far from offended, any feedback is always a pleasure and a chance to improve!! Thank you so much.

I must add that you have worded my thoughts quite accurately: I sketch my cartoons sometimes, but as I do a webcomic that updates three times a week, sometimes I just get to illustrator and try to wrap things up for the next update.

Great advice, it was exactly what I needed.

Thank you so much, I will work on that.

Daniel.

I'm glad you're not offended, I try to be as honest as possible. I find that although it's nice when someone says they like your work, it's not always helpful as constructive criticism is important for development. Stay in touch, thanks for the watch.

You've got a very clean, cute style. It's kind of the opposite of my super sketchy/messy style.

Nice gallery.

That is because my art is done from Illustrator. When I first grabbed my Wacom tablet and started drawing in Photoshop... I designed like a 3 y-o, it was as if my superpowers in design were gone. I had to learn how to draw all over again!!

I tried Illustrator and I got better control of my lines over there, so I took what it looked like a shortcut at a time, and developed my skills in Ai. Unfortunately, the feeling is very unnatural that way, you are literally building up your art from geometric objects.

So... now I am tempted to give a try to Ps again and cover the distance between what I know to do in paper and what I am able to do in Ps.

Cheers,

Daniel.

Hey there Daniel. I know it's pretty late, but welcome to dA! I saw your forum post, and just wanted to say that I went through thesame thing when I first joined.
There are many, MANY talented artists on here, and sometimes, when you leave a comment, they don't always get to it, because soo many others have left comments too. And sometimes, they just don't want to respond. As for making yourself known, try joining a group or club. If you search in groups for "new artists" or something like that, it'll give you some links to check out. There are many places new members can go to get their work noticed. You can also go to the welcome center in the forums.
Anyways, sorry for spamming you with such a long reply. And again, welcome!

Hey, there

Very kind of you, indeed. Well, as a matter of fact, I am not that new to dA... it's been nearly two years since I first registered. However, I have a hard time getting to "find my place" in here, so to speak. Yes, I believe that you understand my situation very well, judging by your words.

As for groups, I have joined some, but again... too much information, too much people posting... I don't think that posts and interventions are so well distributed, imho. But again, I admit that maybe it is a sensation coming from the flood of new things coming to my senses.

When I started realizing how difficult it was, it kinda help me, because I was starting off my own webcomic, and I decided to take a slightly different direction and offer other artists and creatives to co-create the storylines or the designs with me, if they felt like it. Not a strong response yet, unfortunately...

Anyway, thank you so much for your message.

Cheers,

Daniel.
