# About me
I've started photography in my teens. You might describe my work as street photography with a high amount of portraits. I kinda try to document the emotional diversity and ambiguity of our modern days. Isn't it strange how lonely and sad you can feel on this crowded planet? We are connected with hundreds, even thousands of people but still, we all feel lost and lonely sometimes. The amount of networked connections we build with our smartphones might even be exhausting and culminate in a feeling of overextension.
To capture such moments is my way of expressing art and esthetic. You might be on your way to a party and a great night. Then you catch yourself standing solely in a metro station which is full of people flowing all around you. You could stand there for yourself for hours and nobody would notice you. There are these brief moments of melancholy which fascinate me.
This is but one aspect of what i try to express. I like ambiguity and high contrast. You find that strangeness even in places of joy, like very touristy places. Of course i also try to cover joy, laughter and other positive thing. Contrast consists of two contradicting poles and i like to cover both of them.
I shoot mostly b/w.
I live in Germany, where i study political science, philosophy and media science.

Yes, black and white usually has more class, but by shooting the images darker than normal you give your photographs a style of your own and make an image with atmosphere, rather than just a factual reproduction of what is in front of you

Thats indeed what i'm aiming for. White LED light or a flash in combination with a darker setting in the camera gives me a high amount of contrast.
