Clearly, you either haven't read anything or have deliberately ignored everything you read. You have used material created and owned by others without asking their permission. Not only is that a violation of dA's TOS (which you agreed to follow upon signing up for the site) but it's also a violation of actual copyright law. You say you have "proof"...so where's the written permission from all the artists/photographers/camera-wielding tourists-on-the-street you've ripped off?

All the pics in my demotivationals are released into PUBLIC DOMAIN, and the ones that are not, either are mine or used following the FAIR USE POLICY, wich says "using art for the specific purpose of PARODY is allowed, as long as the work are not damaging or insulting the original artist"! And, if that's not enough for you, WHEN I USE COPYRIGHTED IMAGES I ALWAYS CREDIT THE AUTORS AS LONG AS I KNOW THEIR NAMES!
Plus, I NEVER SOLD ANY OF THESE FANARTS! So now tell me, what's the problem? Who am I damaging?

All of your motivational posters. Just because you find something on the internet does not mean it's been "released into public domain." If that were true, this [link] would be public domain. I do believe that copying that image is a federal crime. Please read the FAQ:

Ok buti i didn't just FOUND the images. I took almost all of them from Wikipedia, and checked if it was or not released under a license i could use. Trust me! If you find an image and the license is written under it, and it says "you can use it", then you don't need THE SPECIFIC PERSONAL PERMISSION OF THE OWNER! YAre you serious? Prove it. Provide links to the original artist's site which specifically say that that image can be taken and used by anyone. Until you do, you saying "trust me" isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
And yes, creating images of official currency, even if you're not trying to create forgeries, is a crime. There have been cases of small businesses being prosecuted for making coupons that resemble money (say, with the picture of the owner instead of a dead president; no intention to defraud the U.S., but still illegal).

First thing, you obviously are accusing me without even watching my submissions and I have proof of that 'cause you didn't noticed that I alredy provided some links in the comments and you seem to ignore the fact that at least 2 of my demotivationals are done with MY OWN PICS/ARTWORKS. Kid, you have no idea what you're talking about. A parody would be creating a bipedal talking shrew, naming it Nickey, dressing it in big red shorts with suspenders and yellow buttons, and making it stand for corporate greed and globalization. What you are doing is art theft, plain and simple. You cannot appropriate material created by someone else without their permission. You are, in fact, required to provide that permission if you want to keep your works on this site, as per the TOS (not to mention copyright law).

As the FAIR USE POLICY says " PARODY is using a work in order to poke fun at or comment on the work itself and SATIRE is using a work to poke fun at or comment on something else.
That's what the policy says. Pay attention to the word COMMENT: that's exactly what demotivationals do! You clearly have no idea of what is a parody so stop acting like an expert if you are none.
If you ever watched TV, and if you ever watched a comedian doing satire, you know the comedians often show a picture of something funny (like the george bush and the shoe case), and comment on it, without having to ask the person if he wants his pictures used (in fact most of the times, if they could, they won't let him poking fun at them). THAT's satire, the same as I do with my demotivationals. They're not kiddie things.

Kid...good Lord. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about; parody and fair use covers work that someone else has done that uses the likenesses of trademarked or copyrighted characters. That's different than using a photo that someone else (which is to say, not you) took. Yes, other people steal art, too. That doesn't make it right. Your posters are not parody or satire, they're using an image owned by someone else, which, if you had bothered to read any of my other comments (including the one in which I copy/pasted dA's policy, just so you wouldn't have to click the link yourself) you would know is not allowed on dA. Quite frankly, most of them are painfully stupid anyway.
Theft does not necessarily have to result in monetary gain. If I steal a book from someone's house, I'm not gaining money or status, but I've still taken their book without their permission. That's what you have done with your motivational posters; you have taken something owned by someone else and used it as your own.

1.DeviantART Demotivational does not feature stolen or copyrighted images, just a screenshot of the site.
2.Copyright Demotivational features MY OWN ART. Oh yes I do something.
3.Reactions Demotivational features a chart compiled using the IMDB one as reference. No copyrighted images.
4.Boredom Demotivational features a pic of G.W. Bush released into the PUBLIC DOMAIN. No copyrighted images.
5.Obviousness Demotivational features two pics taken from Wikipedia. The first is released into the PUBLIC DOMAIN ([link] ), the second released under a GNU Free License and Creative Commons that allow the use of it([link] )
6.Redneck Demotivational features a pic of G.W. Bush released into the PUBLIC DOMAIN. I took it from a U.S. government site, don't remmeber wich one. No copyrighted images.
7.Worst Disaster Demotivational features a crappy cellphone pic taken by a teenager I found on the Internet. I don't know who's the owner, but let's be realistic, I don't think he bothers if I use it. If it does, he's free to sue me.
8.George W. Bush Demotivational features another pic of G.W. Bush released into the PUBLIC DOMAIN. As the previous one, I took it from a U.S. government site, don't remmeber wich one. No copyrighted images.
9.Psycho Demotivational is the only demotivational of mines using an official copyrighted image without permission. In fact I put a disclamer. I know it isn't enough but I do know this goes under the Fair Use Policy.
10.Barack Obama Demotivational features a pic of Barack Obama released into the PUBLIC DOMAIN ([link] ).
No copyright infringement whatsoever.
11.Not Joke Demotivational features, as stated on thecommentary of the submission, a pic taken by me on holiday.
12 and 13. Heroes Demotivational and Shoes Demotivational feature screenshots of the Bush/Shoe case. Are the news copyrighted? Can I express my freedom of speech by commenting on these facts? Or is copyright infringement? And who's the owner if every single newspaper or tv program or internet site feature the same pics? Are they infringing copyright too?
13. Santa Claus Demotivational features an artwork named "Merry Old Santa Claus," by Thomas Nast, no longer copyrighted because it was done more than 95 years from now, [Harper's Weekly, January 1, 1881] (and that's the maximum amount of time a copyright can last).
14. Xmas Demotivational features an image taken from Wikipedia that goes under under a GNU Free License and Creative Commons that allow derivative works([link] )

Nice essay. First, I report all manner of policy violations, from direct art theft, to motivational posters like yours, to porn. Second, those kids came to my page; they're harassing me, not the other way around. Third, I do have my art on this site; I just didn't want sixteen-year-old kids making motivational posters of Edward Cullen coming on my front page and covering it with LOL DONGS.
You read this site's TOS when you signed up (or you should have, at least). This is not a "community", this is a website. A privately owned website. They can make whatever rules they want and enforce them however they desire. If you don't like it, and think your motivational posters are grand, tortured, artistic statements, post them elsewhere. Make your own site.
