Aww, thank you! I was pretty impressed with J's work, as well. At first I thought it looked weird, and then he showed me a photo and my jaw dropped. He's an amazing craftsman.

If it helps, he used black acrylic paint, and various brush sizes, to complete the overall effect. He also did some dry brushing on my suit to make it look 'dirty', as well as to make it a few shades darker.

Wow thanks ! It means alot since I'm really perfectionist and kinda try to work on every little detail I can. Also I can't wait to actually bring it out for a drive in a Con since I wasnt able to go to any con last year. So to walk a Con floor with my completed cosplay and probably in character as I know myself will probably be tons of fun !

No problem at all. The effort you've put into the costume really shows Aaawh that sucks about not being able to go to a con. Still...captainly funtimes will be had in the future I can't tell you how much fun cosplaying RA characters is. You get a lot of funny reactions I really wish we had a captain for our Excel photoshoots. We have a Pilot cosplayer for our next shoot which should be interesting lol.

Hnng I wish I had a Snippy or an Engie or a Pilot but I have no friends who are into RA as much as I am so none of em want to follow me on the path of new delicious adventures. Near me there is only one con I can really go so next year I think I'll take a trip to California or something for the big cons. Still can't wait for the next con wich is in september I think

Awwwh They don't know what they're missing! Honestly i'm not normally into anything like RA, i'm more of a skippy, dancey, anything sparkly type of person. But i don't know...it just has this sort of charm about it. The humour is great and the artwork is just beautiful My friend had book 1 which i read at a Con last year and i've been hooked ever since Same here, cons tend to be few and far between. Its only at MCM i've been able to meet Vit and the team and meet other RA fans. Although, i did upset 2 fangirls in Cardiff when they discovered that "their Snippy" was a girl! Haha

I don't remember how heard about RA I think it was back when I was in a big post-apocalyptic craze because of Fallout 3 then Fallout NV and also Gone With The Blastwave and I just instantly fell in love with captain. I thought about how cool it be to play such a character being a student in theater and just wanted to make a costume. So I ended up with all I needed and realized I had nothing to wear it to. Some of my friends who read it a little told me Captain was not a good idea since he's possibly a girl but I think that's the magical thing about RA; Everybody can dress up as any characters since no one knows what they really look like (Exception of Engie maybe but heck he still wears a gas mask all the time anyway).I'm also thinking about going to an anime con just to meet Vitaly but I'm not really into anime so I'd kinda feel out of place.

You're a theatre student?!? Sweet! Captain is Captain...i doubt he even knows what gender he/she is really I prefer to think of him as male though. But thats what i love about RA - anyone can cosplay as the characters.You haven't go to look exactly like them, it doesn't matter if you're male or female (personally i don't think it should matter with cosplay anyway, to me its all about having fun ) I can relate to that, I have NO idea whatsoever about manga or anime. I only know a teensy bit about pokemon, but thats it. I only started going to cons and cosplaying last year. 2 of my friends normally help out on the RA stall at MCM so thats how i got involved in it all. Cons are great places to meet people with the same interests, i'm normally very shy at meeting & talking to people, but all the people i've met at MCM expo are always so friendly. I find it so easy to relax, be myself and have a ton of fun there. Do any of your friends cosplay?

Nah none of my friends cosplay but I know maybe 2 good friends who might so till the next con I will drown them in RA stuff so I can maybe turn them into my most delicious minions. And I also like to think of Captain as a male since he is supposed to be tall and imposing in some ways and well I can pull that off I think. Im hoping that while cosplaying I'll get the same feeling I get when In character on a stage. The freedom of playing another character and just let yourself completely sink in character. It's always fun to realize you are not the only one who wish to cosplay and know almost nothing about anime. When you go on message boards or cosplay sites it's literally filled with Anime cosplayers.

Hehe sounds like a good plan I agree, i think if Captain did turn out to be a girl i would be mentally scarred for life XD Well all i can say is just have fun with it. The official Captain we have at MCM really gets into character.He speaks with a german accent and does what we call "the captain walk" (he put his one arm behind his back and kind of struts around ) He goes around the stalls too yelling " Vat is all dese things?! Aaaaall the things for Captein!'' As soon as he takes off the mask and costume though, he is a completely different person. I know, tell me about it...It does tend to put you off. But, you'd be surprised. There are quite a few people i spoke to at MCM with very little interest in Anime There are lots of cosplay competitions , drawing workshops , cosplay help and tons and tons of merchandise, and loads of lovely artists to speak to ^_^ Go for it. Just have fun

It seems so much fun I can't wait and the next con is in August so I'll have to be real patient even though it'll be hard. Till then I'll continue to work on my accent and physical expression. It comforts me to know that alot of people go to cons without any interest in Animes. I might just go and be Captain meet people and just have fun in general . The thing I'm mostly scared of is; spending all my money on tons of merchandise and stuff D:. I was also planning on not showing my face and only remove the mask in places with few people just to keep the mystery haha but I think I'm over estimating my ability to not die of suffocation in my cosplay.

Do it!! Being Captain means you can get away with a murder! Be prepared to have your photograph taken a lot though. Haha now THAT i can't help you with I spent an obscene amount of money on prints lol (mostly RA ones) Vit even gave me a little drawing with "keep being a delicious Snippy on it" (Best moment ever!!) Be warned, the costumes are not easy to wear at all especially in a packed convention hall. Visibility is a real issue, and you do get extremely hot. Even the official RA Cosplayers only managed stints of 20mins, but they're always looking for people to march around with Captain - go to the stall and say hi to the team, they are a lovely bunch of people!

I can get away with murder !? Anyway I guess having the creator of the character tell you you are delicious must be pretty awesome :3 but you do make a delicious Snippy ! I heard about cooling vests to put under the cosplay so I might try that plus I have found a way to drink without removing the mask so I might just try to drink tons of liters of ice cold water to be Captain as long as I can before passing out. To be honest I hope I'll meet some RA fans I think I'd be pretty disappointed of not meeting any.:/ Now I just wish I had more things costume related to do till then

I had to walk away for a bit and calm down before returning to the stall Awwwh thank you so much ^_^ The vest sounds like a great idea, let me know how that one turns out if you do go ahead and get one Hahaha, let me guess..drinking with a radioactive straw? Awesomeness indeed. You should find some RA fans, the saturday of the con is when most of the fans are lurking around i find. What's the name of the con you're going to? If you've got Facebook, Captain has an events page, if your event is on there - just see who is going, or ask if anyone is cosplaying. You could speak to people and arrange a meet up for RA photoshoot fun times! :3 Awwwh, do you plan on cosplaying as any of the other characters?

I'm going to Montreal's Comic Con so I'll have to check. Also I might plan another costume but probably not RA related. I had plans for maybe something from Borderlands or Game of Thrones. But I'm not that good at crafting stuff so I'll have to see
