it's going wonderfully, best I've ever been tbh! life has changed a lot since I made this account. I'm pretty quiet nowadays but I still follow my favorite artists from back then. how about you dear?Β

That is great to hear! It's wonderful, when people you knew are doing fine~
Life changed for me a lot, too. Lately I found some nice communities for my favorite game (Monster Hunter) to talk about and I made myself comfy there.
IRL, I struggled with work and went to court to fight with my Ex-Boss, because he didn't pay me properly after getting rid of me.
Now, I'm doing better and enjoy these lovely temperatures after the first taste of summers heat.

that's beautiful! I'm just happy to see that some of my old friends still even use this site. it's crazy how things change fast, so seeing journals and entries from the same people as back then is very special to me. I myself have been playing a lot of rocket league (car soccer game), but I was really interested in monster hunter world for a while.
after thinking about it I felt like I don't have that enough time to dedicate to such a huge game and I mostly play with friends, so it's hard to make them switch as well. at the same time I feel like I'm too old to play games that are as addictive & time consuming as MH. I'd probably have trouble sleeping if I started playing this now haha.
I'm leaving this saturday to germany, I'm going to Europapark (for the roller coasters mostly) and possibly nΓΌrburg (for the track) with a friend with the motorcycles.
I really hope things will go your way with your court hearing. those often take a while but if you have all the proof there is no way he'll get away with it.

It's been interesting, but good so far. Very close to accomplishing some hard-sought goals. How is the motorcycle-repair fairing for you? That's a nice bike ya got!

DinoCycles In reply to Egon-Riker [2014-01-21 07:44:31 +0000 UTC]
goals? which ones? you got an editor?!
and thanks! still quite a lot of stuff to do on it (dead gear position sensor -> god-damn pain in the ass to change) but it sure is a beautiful-looking and ridiculously scary-to-ride bike!! I love it!

Between you and Kevin, I'm really considering a motorcycle once funds are adequate. It's an awesome set of skills you're developing. I'm hoping my job hires me on so I can learn some small engine repair (I'm just a temp still, so I can't access that delicious knowledge yet).
I answered your question in a previous reply. It's been a long wait, but soon I will reap more editing skills! As for the novel, I hope to have it available for purchase this year.

indeed. I'm glad it happened in the end!!
wait, do you have a job in a garage?
well, it's nothing hard to be honnest, I owe most of my knowledge to hours spent on dedicated forums....... and hours spent trying to fit a nut to a bolt in the least reachable places possible lmao!!

Egon-Riker In reply to DinoCycles [2014-01-21 08:24:42 +0000 UTC]
Sadly not. I work for Stihl, a company that manufactures lawn equipment. They're awesome though, as Stihl employees have access to a variety of classes if they choose to. I just have to get hired on first, which shouldn't be too long, as I've been there for over a year (THEIR WAGES AND BENEFITS ARE FANTASTIC). Any mechanical knowledge I have comes from having to swap parts from terrible cars and the two years I had in machining, so I'm eager to become more mechanically orientated. Hey, I might wind up making a technical savvy character, ya know?
The internet is a great place to supplement that knowledge (at times, I would imagine). So props to you for applying it.

DinoCycles In reply to Egon-Riker [2014-01-21 12:29:57 +0000 UTC]
you did some machining? I would love to try that, i'm fascinated by billet and cnc cutting and production of custom parts!
I remember the problem you had with you car. was it a volvo with a crap radiator or something? I'm not sure
the internet is amazing. I'm just lucky to have my father's garage and tools to apply this!
π: 0 β©: 1
Egon-Riker In reply to DinoCycles [2014-01-21 12:53:45 +0000 UTC]
It was manual machining, mainly with lathes and vertical mills, with some vertical band saws (*drool*) and grinders. There was some CNC, but it was very basic.
As for the Volvo, I can't even remember everything that was wrong with. I now have a 2000 Isuzu Rodeo with a rebuilt transmission, and my god, I am happy to have a car that doesn't like to break down. I'm gonna baby it. BABY IT.
Your father's garage? Nice! Fantastic resources.

DinoCycles In reply to Egon-Riker [2014-01-21 15:07:10 +0000 UTC]
hell yeah it's hard to argue against Isuzu's reputation for trucks and pickups, that's for sure!
π: 0 β©: 1
Egon-Riker In reply to DinoCycles [2014-01-21 16:13:56 +0000 UTC]
Not to mention that the Isuzu Rodeo is pretty much a Honda Passport in disguise. Mileage is a bitch in town, but other than I'm pretty happy with the purchase considering my vehicular past (will not pay $1200 again for a car unless it's glowing with angelic light and singing sweet hymns).

DinoCycles In reply to Egon-Riker [2014-02-07 14:50:29 +0000 UTC]
what you think 1200$ is much?
I guess you have extras to pay as well to register it or so?
π: 0 β©: 1
Egon-Riker In reply to DinoCycles [2014-02-07 16:38:13 +0000 UTC]
As in pay that little for a car unless it's in supreme condition, which experience has taught me that it rarely (never) is I'd rather spend more for a car with a reputable owner who cared for his vehicle.
π: 0 β©: 1
DinoCycles In reply to Egon-Riker [2014-02-07 18:18:10 +0000 UTC]
that's sad, especially considering a car is quite easy to maintain in general...
I mean how bad can it be? to be in bad shape it really must have been never serviced

Egon-Riker In reply to DinoCycles [2014-02-07 18:20:12 +0000 UTC]
Pretty much. The new one I have was well-taken care of, and I've been keeping on top of it. I LURV IT.

XD I imagine a lot of my stuff like that. I tend to use a lot of visual words and dialog, and often have to remind myself to add auditory and olfactory details too.

olfactory? never went this far, even though it seems so natural

It's not always necessary, but sometimes it's really good when associating other images with it, like food or something putrescent.
