I prefer Lick my Decals off. Both are absolute grade A classics, but I find myself liking Lick my Decals off more because of Dr. Dark. Dr. Dark was the first Beefheart tune i heard, so i'm slightly more biased towards Lick my Decals off, Baby.

I don't mind the Captains later stuff either (Doc at the Radar Station's one that I occasionally bring out), it's just not in the same frame of groundbreaking as Trout mask and Lick my Decals off, Baby.

I haven't tried any of the later stuff yet ... Will be sure to give it a listen sometime. Trout was the first one I heard so I know it a heck of lot better than Decals. So much awesome music out there!
