# About me
I consider myself a Traditional "Varied" Artist on a non-professional level. Doing my art is more of a beloved hobby to me. I've always loved drawing, painting, print-making (silk-screen, lithograph, print-block, intaglio, etc.) and hand crafts of all types, since I was in Grade School.
My professional career started in 1982 as a traditional Graphic Artist working for various print shops. By traditional, I mean NO Computers in sight! I 'pasted up' galley type and 'stats' manually with parallel rules and wax!
As computers hit the professional scene in the very late 1980's and early 1990's, I gravitated more towards project coordination and management.
Professionally, I'm currently a Traffic Operations Specialist for a Non-Profit Association's in-house Brand Strategy & Services department. I 'traffick' in-coming projects to our department, which means I am the scheduler for all in-coming projects given out to the in-house Production Coordinator/Art-Director teams.
I also assist clients in submitting projects by consulting, or actual online form submission, and help coordinate projects when necessary, and ensure deadlines are met. Another main focus of my position is my involvement with our web vendor to update/design, test, implement, maintain and trouble-shoot our department's online request ordering and workflow system, which is our main scheduling program, hosted by our vendor, for all incoming projects. It's also my responsibility to train staff on the third party software and updates - what fun! I Love it!
Along the way I've kept my hands in Graphic Design by teaching myself graphics software as I've moved from Corporation to Corporation. My computer skills may not be cutting edge, but I can get around in Illustrator, PhotoShop, QuarkXpress, InDesign, some older programs no longer used, and the complete Microsoft Office suite of business applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Live Meeting) in both PC and MAC platforms!
I LOVE to Learn and teach myself new stuff OR to decipher, resolve or figure out Anything! .... It can be life lessons, on computers, or hand crafts, since I'm also self taught in knitting, sewing, beading and Jewelry making, leather tooling and crafts, and mixed media. I see something I'd like to try - I figure out how it's done and just do it!

It was Wonderful! Mom gave me money to put towards my Windstone purchases, AND a couple of Amazon gift cards that I used to buy some RAM upgrade and replacement batteries for my laptop - still have some credit left too!
On a contrasting note, work in the new year has been almost overwhelming, I've been swamped since the week of Christmas. To add to the stress, next week I'm being moved from an office to a Pod that is 1/4 of the space I have now, so in the middle of Everything I'm purging, packing, and taking some stuff home. I'm Not a happy camper at the moment. We've also been told (3 days ago) that our Association is being reorg'ed, so now the stress of wondering who may/may not have a job at the end of April has also been dumped on us. The call for 'voluntary separations, has already gone out.

Hey!
I've GOT to see this as soon as possible! Unfortunately because of my crunching work schedule this past week and next week, and my Soccer Book freelance, which also needs to be completed by the end of next week, it may take longer than I had hoped. I'm also SUPER Busy at home and on the weekends-plus my Hubby is a Die-Hard DS Fan and doesn't like the previews at all (doesn't want to see it). I'm a lot more forgiving seeing that I LOVE 'campy' movies to death and this looks like just the ticket for ME!
I WAS going to try and take a long lunch at work on Friday (May 11) - there's a movie theater two blocks down the street from my work - HOWEVER, I had another training session to lead that afternoon, AND my assistant was out starting Friday until next Thursday, and I need to cover her work as well as do my own. This WASN'T the plan a few weeks ago in mid-April!
I WILL Get There To See Dark Shadows, Johnny Depp, and especially Jackie - in all of his Cuteness - Though! It just may take a little more time. Actually I believe my first opportunity may be May 22
