Well as I see it a Mary Sue is someone who gets all the powers, attention and his goals and stuffs without having to work for it. So I would suggest you work on their background, don't suddenly give them stuff and powerups out of nowhere, have them work for it. If you are writing there's a saying "Show not tell"

The Boddy Brothers' New Origin Story:Devil May Cry-verse in it's Viking Age.
A secret society known as the Draumr Lif (Deh-Roy-Mur Leef, Dream Life in English) is said to have been active since the Viking Age and has been conducting experiments on various lifeforms while utilizing knowledge and technology far, far ahead of their time, with said technology combined with magic.
How they obtained the proper technology to perform the previously mentioned biological experiments is unknown, but it should be noted that the forenamed secret society started as a small group of villagers, townspeople, and other non-combatants who survived the Viking raids as well as the defected warriors who saved them, who somehow stumbled across an unusual fountain containing a mysterious alchemic liquid that increased some people's intellectual

By the way, when it comes to the whole Superman Vs. Goku thing, I personally think that they would tie in the sense that they would both win.
This is because both of them constantly build up their qualities in power in terms of how physically powerful they are, and their increase of physical power seems to never end, so therefore the fight would never end until one of them gave up, both of them gave up, or if they formed a truce.

Just to clarify about my two main OCs, in case you assumed that they are supposedly "self-insertions":
Despite the Boddy Brothers' first names (Zeke and Eugene), theyΒ are NOT self-insertions.
You see, I happen to be a fan of the Infamous series,Β which is how I got the idea for my username (Zeke: Zeke Dunbar from the "Cole MacGrath Saga", and Eugene: Eugene Sims from the "Delsin Rowe Saga".)
I merely named the Boddy Brothers Zeke and Eugene respectively because I just wanted to add at least one Shout-Out to Infamous within my fanfiction.Β To put my second announcement simply; It's just a coincidence. A rather odd coincidence, but a coincidence none-of-the less.
Also, Zeke Dunbar and Eugene Sims are two of my favorite characters in the Infamous series, which is another reason as to how I came up with my username and how I came up with the Boddy Brothers' first names.
