I'm starting the learning process of effect make-up, can you give me any notes/pointers?
I admire this kind of work, but right now I'm using liquid latex.

Oh that's great! I went to film school for makeup and found it expensive but extremely valuable... We learned gelatin and foam latex, mold making, and much more. The process of building prosthetics is pretty complicated not to mention involves buying materials that you will have no idea where to get. If you do schooling you'll learn where to get everything you need. If you arn't ready to go to a school then check out "The Technique of the Professional Makeup Artist" by Vincent Kahoe, or "Stage Makeup" by Richard Corson. Both are industry staples and come highly recommended - most effects artists will have them or at least know of them.
