I am in love with your works, they strongly differ with what I used to do (quick, rough, contrast and those are detailed, soft, complete), it strikes me.

I really love your sketchbook. Probably like it more than your paintings. That being said you have several solid pieces in your gallery. I like how you get a small sense of the asian looking art in your work but it's backed up by good fundamentals. Keep it up! I'll be watching ^^

Here's an idear - draw a mermaid cradling a skull with a look of despair.
I plan on doing something like that next, but, who knows when that will be!

One thing I do to improve my art is to not focus on the end result or creating something that other people will like.
When trying to get better the best thing to do is to try different things, do lots of studies and keep making mistakes so you can figure out how to fix them.
Most of my art I have no intention of showing other people, I use it to simply study, improve and get better.

Thanks for the comment :}! I have the same art block too and seeing the work of other artist's I admire will often kick me out of it, so it's nothing to be worried about! Happens to everyone, even me!
I'm glad I could be the artist that inspires to keep drawing. Just don't forget about drawing and art and you'll continue to get better and better, doesn't matter how long of a journey it is.

I use all materials! I try not to stick with just one.
Although for my pencils I exclusively use a 0.5 2B Mechanical Pencil for everything. I don't mind any paper as long as it's smooth (Moleskine, office paper, regular sketchbooks).
I also do digital paintings a lot, Photoshop, MSPaint & OpenCanvas.
Pens: Pilot drawing pens & Brush pens are my favourite.
I also do watercolor, with the cheapest kind possible
