# About me
I'll start by saying that I'm not one to stick to a single form of art. I have dabbled in many mediums but above all, I just love looking at intriguing, beautiful and inspiring things, whether it be my creations---of which I am often surprised and slightly self-conscious about---or nature, which offers an endless supply of inspiration, or others' art, which is inevitably more interesting than mine.
I love gleaning inspiration from other artists and work well when immersing myself in an artistic community.
My various experimentations with mediums and art forms include:
Watercolor, colored pencil, pen & ink, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, found objects, photography, collage, ceramic clay pottery and sculptures, bronze, china paints on blank tile, mural painting, interior design, textile arts---including taking raw fleece/fiber and carding, spinning, knitting, felting, etc, and jewelry making.
Where art is concerned, I am mostly self-educated but have taken classes at Southern Oregon Community College including basic design, art history, watercolor courses, sculpture and pottery courses, bronze casting and was the studio assistant in the 3-D studio for several terms.
I am not a terribly prolific artist compared with some others. My life and job seem to interfere with the time I have to create. (Imagine that!) I would do best to set aside time--- preferably spent with other artists in a studio or classroom environment.
So thank you, my fellow artists, for being associates in my pseudo-studio. I hope you enjoy looking at my art, and comments and critiques are always welcome. And if you have art that you want me to see, just leave me a comment and I'll take a look!

It encourages me to finish things. I tend to write snippets of poetry that come to my brain but don't finish the piece. Then I think, I haven't put anything up on my dA page in a while I should updatee it. Then I begin to go back through my snippets and see which if any I want to expand.

I took a creative writing class at SOCC--I like writing but am never motivated enough. And it always took me forever to get the wording "just right". I'd usually stay up till 3am the night before the assignment was due working on my project. I should dig out some of my old poems and such and post them. Did you know you can submit poems, stories, Haiku, photography and art to the "beacon" at SOCC? (at least you used to be able to, I haven't checked on that in a long while) I used to be an editor for them.

I know what you mean about the 3am thing. You should bring out your poems and dust em off. I always figure, I'm not Maya Angelou or the like, but if I don't put them up they will stay, unseen, forever.
I didn't know about The Beacon. I am not sure I am that good, but it is neat to think about being published.

Oh you really should try submitting to the Beacon, there is no harm in it.

I will try to find info on it. I can't find any online yet but I admit I am at work so I am multi-tasking. (I have had 3 customers all day.)

Might be one of those things where you just have to go to the college and inquire
