Favorite visual artist: I'm not limited to one "favorite" artist, Hieronymus Bosch is a BIG fave; he anticipates Surrealism by centuries. Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Edward Hopper, Van Gogh, Man Ray, and Egyptian, Greco-Roman, and Medieval Art and Architecture.
Favorite movies: Same as with the visual arts, I don't limit myself to specific films. Certain directors (Abel Ferrara, Tarantino, Friedkin, DePalma, David Lynch, etc.). Certain genres: film noir, neo-noir, action, crime drama. Bad movies are fun--big MST3K fan!
Favorite TV shows: Kolchak The Night Stalker, The X-Files, The Sopranos, Penny Dreadful, Forever Knight, Cracker (the original BBC version with Robbie Coltrane), Callan, True Detective (Season One ONLY--the rest is sludge), Homeland
Favorite bands / musical artists: The Doors, Sisters of Mercy, Loreena McKennitt, NWA, Depeche Mode, New Order, Joy Division, Future Sound of London, The Clancy Brothers, The Corries, Enigma, Sarah McLachlan, Benny Goodman, Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra, Public Enemy, Johnny Cash...others.
Favorite books: The Divine Comedy, Paradise Lost, anything by Nietzsche, anything by Lovecraft, Thomas Ligotti, Andre Breton, Sade. Notes From Underground, American Psycho, Blood Meridian, The Red Book by C.G. Jung, and countless others.
Favorite writers: See above.
Favorite gaming platform: Don't play video games anymore--last time I did I was in university around 30 years ago.
Tools of the Trade: Pen and Paper. Then I transfer what I wrote to Word, if I can still read what I wrote!
