I wish I could go to CaperCon, but it's right in the middle of midterms so I need to study. I'll be at Geequinox in April, for sure, but I don't know what else other than a few small things like at Video Games Live when they come to Halifax. 
It is nice to see other people from the area, I know there aren't many on Deviantart, and most of them are photographers.

Ah, that's too bad! Good luck with those midterms though. 
I probably won't be at geequinox ((but if I could manage it I'd love to aha, it's just harder for me to get to halifax and the surrounding area because that's about 3/3 and a half hours away from me while sydney is about two)) this year, I'm hoping for halcon next year though! I'm probably moving somewhere a little closer next year so it'll be easier to get there.
Yeah, I've found that too! I've only found a couple others from around here in my four and a half years on dA, I think just three of them weren't photographers? ((actually one of them I met in person at capercon last year! and didn't realize until I'd gotten home that wait, I follow this person on dA hAH I bought one of their prints and took a picture of their business card and everything and still didn't clue in))

If you don't mind me asking, are you from NS too then, or one of the other atlantic provinces? You don't have to answer if you don't feel comfortable of course c:

I'm from NS. I'm going to university in Halifax, so I was really close to Hal-Con this year. I can understand that Geequinox isn't always worth it because it's a lot smaller and 2 days rather than 3. Since I don't get to cosplay often, I take every chance I can get! There are still a number of conventions and events I would love to go to, but it gets hard when I have classes and studying to do. If you want to see other artists from the Maritimes, most of the people I follow are people I have met at Hal-Con or Animaritime. Instagram seems to be the main place to find cosplayers, so I know a lot more people there.
