Yore stuff. There's a story in every picture. We know what's happened 2 minutes ago (tiny dragon found stylus, tried biting tip, lost balance, fell over backwards, gripped pen with four limbs, tried gnawing with molars), and we know, or can take a good guess, what's gonna happen next. And the captions you add just...well, add to it!

I really like your digital painting style. Β There's just something soft about the way you handle textures that's very appealing. Β Haven't seen it before, and wish I could describe it better.

I've heard it be described as oil-like before.
....I've never touched oils admittedly so I can't really vouch for the comparison's validity!

The only thing I know about oils as a medium is what I've gleaned from watching Bob Ross video, so no idea on that. Β XD;;

Hmm. May very well have been the inspiration for that image, because I can't remember where the idea came from and have certainly seen that comic before.

How in the...what is this...
Hello... I see that you had something to do with that.
As for why the 20 watchers/6 years, you may notice that not a whole lot has been done over those 6 years (something I'm trying to slowly amend). Hell, my last journal comes from 2008. Also, methodical purging of deviations helps.

Any chance I could convince you to share Sarah's reference one last time? I need to know what her torso-piece looks like for realz.

Gotta trim that fat, Ave.
And here: [link]
It is such a simplified piece that you could probably just draw her wearing a cardboard box and it would look close enough.

I have to ask though...why the tail and ears? It's something I've seen often in anime-inspired characters, but can't figure out why.

Napaea In reply to Karbik [2011-12-31 02:16:00 +0000 UTC]
Ah, really really late reply but;
The tail and ears were inspired by the Final Fantasy summon/eidolon/whatever they call them these days. The closest reference to her would be: [link] or [link] .
It didn't really have anything to do that she was drawn in an anime style but more because of the references that I found, since there was no actual pictorial or even descriptive form of the South American deity.
On the other hand, I'm not really sure why most characters have ears or tails in anime. ^^
