That's how it should be I hope to get a DSLR (or just any decent camera) for Christmas and then get started myself But it does take special talent to capture those truly great moments and I think you do that very well

There are so many good little cameras coming out now and very affordable.  Fuji makes a great mirror less compact that is about 500 dollars and is amazing.  Im dont know if you have ever visited a website, dpreview.com, but its a great site to web peruse before investing in a camera.  Thanks again for the compliment.  Its difficult to show my photos sometimes because people judge, especially non creative types.  Ive been called all sorts of things because of how I shoot.  Its my art though and I am compelled to do it anyway.   Never with arrogance or for any other reasons except for pure pleasure.  Im rambling now, so thanks again.  I would like to see more of your work.  Have you ever thought of teaching it on youtube or something?

Thanks for the tip I'll take a look at it before buying anything. Do you know what that Fuji camera is called? And which camera do you use?

It's unbelievable that people bother to say something like that to you. Good thing it doesn't effect your will to do photography.

Hmm, at some point I might make videos, but my experience with digital art is very limited, but it is my big dream to teach.

Do you attend some kind of photography school or is it just a hobby?

Hi. The camera is a retro fuji 100x, I think.  It just looks so simple yet has the controls we all love.  I have used all sorts of cameras.  From the cell phone toPhase One digital backs.  I chose photography when was about 20 years old because I had an opportunity to be apprenticed and I didnt know of anything else this world. Next thing I know 17 years later its all I really know. Lol. I recently quit my job as an advertisi ng photographer because I dont like the way people treat creative people.  Onto the next phase of my life, I guess.  I do photography for free know and as a pure art form that no one can manipulate for monetary gain.   Sometimes this world is so harsh. I swear I just wwantto sell everything and buy a sailboat.. my apartment is filled with memories yet I sit alone most of the time. Iguess thats what i want. sorry if I rambled or bored you. I have done a lot and have a lot of stories and experiences.  Please ask if you like to.  Your work seems like the real art.  So tender.

That's the kind of weird thing about those truly great cameras - even the oldest models produce some amazing Photos (unlike other electronical devices) I wouldn't have guessed that your camera was retro, but it's kind of cool

You're lucky to have worked with your big creative interest as a professional job, but I completely understand why you chose to quit. I really struggle with drawing and painting in more professional invironments (if that makes sense), because I hate how forced it feels. I can imagine it being the same thing with photography.

Don't apologize It's pretty great to hear about your experiences. Right now I'm just trying to figure out what to do with my life, so it's nice to hear other people's stories

I asked because as I was reading your response about life a gust of wind made my wind chime sing.  Ive been acting on coincidences lately..

It's pretty good to act on coincidences every once in a while It must be pretty warm where you are if you have your windows open and wind chimes are singing It's so stormy and snowy here that it's best to stay in.

Im in San Antonio, Texas right now and its cold.  The last week or so has been quite chilly.  I moved here from New York to escape the cold. Oh well!  At least I can hear the wind chime outside my living room as I sit next to the fire.  I do kinda like the snow.  Are you working on anything?

I get pretty tired of snow after a while, since where I live (Denmark), winter lasts for about 5 or 6 months sometimes. I'm going to New York this summer and I can't wait! It's going to be my first time in the US

Not really, I just had my last lesson in art class and now I'm not sure what to do But I see you're being pretty productive!

I grew up in Queens, NY.   Right by JFK airport.  You should love it there, but I hear wonderful things of Denmark!  When in NYC,  you have to take in a show at the Lincoln Center and right across the street is a cafe that has the best sangria, I believe.   The zoo in Central Park is cute.  The show at the Natural History Museum is good.  Many things to do.  What do you want see?  I go there a lot to visit family. If you have any questions, ask.  I know lots of nice people there too.

I have thousands of photo's.  I've been shooting since a teenager. My archive is like a visual movie of a persons life. It lifts my spirits and brings me to tears at time's. I've also written a lot too, but I dont post because people judge.  I have posted some things on DA about art and my random thoughts for the moment.  Things are ever changing in this life. Always, eh?  Im so happy to talk to someone from Denmark! It always seems picturesque in my mind over there..

I can't wait to go. I'm only going to stay 3 nights so I have to plan my days in advance. I want to go to MoMA, but I hear alot of the artwork is European and that's the last thing I want to see while in the US If you know any galleries or museum where I can see some American art, I'd love to get some tips.

That's one of the things I like about photography. You really have the opportunity to capture every single moment and make films of thousands of images in order to find that one perfect shot When painting I rarely know where it's going before I'm done and it never turns out the way I wanted in the beginning - but sometimes that's pretty neat. I used to write a little as well (and my boyfriend still does), but I thought my texts were too generic and unoriginal. I guess we should just do whatever we feel like and try to ignore everybody else.

I think you'd be pretty surprised by how things look here. It's very wet and flat and most people from Denmark complain about the weather, but I guess a foreigner would see it differently.

Try the New Museum, The NY Public Library is a must! Central Park and Lincoln center.  Check any kind of performance at Lincoln Center. The Bronx Museum and Harlem are great!! Of course, International Center of Photography too.. Look for Warhols. MOMA is great. So is the Guggenheim AND The National Academy Of Design!! Try to stay more than three nights..

The is a lot of Dutch heritage in New York.
