And welcome to DeviantArt! ^-^ Hope you enjoy your stay here.

Whoah, I see you're studying psychology, animal and veterinary bioscience! Holy crap, that's a huge but very interesting combo! Good luck getting your degrees.

Do you plan to combine those subjects in a job too? Like animal psychology? c:

No problem you're work is amazing.
And thank you, I'm not new to dA just wanted a fresh start with a new name.

Yeah it's an interesting combo but as soon as I saw that particular degree I knew that is exactly what I wanted to do. Before I saw that combo I was originally gonna stick with just psychology but I've always loved animals and always wished to work with them.

Ideally I would like to do animal behaviour but that takes a bit of time, I am more focusing on clinical psychology and that still takes a long time. The animal and veterinary bioscience gets me into animal welfare and government related jobs I think, haven't been told much about post-graduate degrees but I have decided to do animal behaviour in third year so I'm looking forward to that

Which animal behaviors exactly? Will you specialize in certain species?

I love animals myself. Originally, I wanted to become a vet but my brain is too stupid to memorize all the science words. I can't even do math, let alone get good grades in chemistry... then I found out I'm good at drawing pictures and maybe writing (simple word stories), haha.

Not sure yet. Don't know what species we would cover in that subject but nonetheless it'll be interesting. I also have to do animal reproduction and nutrition at some stage and there's another subject I'm contemplating about called psychology of human-animal relationships which would also be interesting but thats more a psychology subject.

I wanted to be a vet when I was younger but growing up I have developed a huge passion towards the mechanisms of the brain in relation to psychology. Also I don't think I could handle having to tell owners their pet has to be out down or it didn't make it through surgery.

I did methods in VCE and oh boy... Didn't do very well, I pretty much gave up half way through the year aha. I was hoping I didn't have to do much maths in uni but nope, have to do chemistry, which I enjoy just have to work hard for it. Always intrigued by science and at some points find it a little easy. I wasn't amazing at chem so didn't do as well as I thought (the exam screwed me over  )

You're not just good at drawing you're amazing at it!!! and overtime your skills will improve even more. Always stick to what you love and enjoy

Yeah, I also heard that a vet once said the most painful part about putting an animal down, is that their owners often choose to say goodbye and leave the room when it happens, instead of being with the animal when it's being put to sleep. Few owners would actually let their animals die on their lap/arms, and then their left-alone animal would try and call them before they died.

It breaks my heart to hear this. I'm the type of person that could never leave a dying pet alone... but I'm also never brave enough to kill a suffering animal. ;-; I was there are few times when an animal died painfully, just hoping it would survive somehow. Like a mouse attacked by a cat, or a bird that crashed against a window, once I also saw a mallard duckling getting literally pecked on by other (adult) mallards until it died from the injuries.

It is heartbreaking. I get they can't bear seeing their beloved pet go but I don't think many understand that their pets would want them by their side. I could never leave my dog's side if she was ever sick or needed to be put down (hopefully that never happens anytime soon). We share so many memories with our pets. I remember when I was younger, my first dog (red heeler x blue) had to be put down due to cancer. I wasn't allowed to go with her to the vet and it broke my heart.

I'm not as caring as you, as much as I hope a bird is alright from flying into a window, they should have adapted and learn to avoid windows and they do give me quite a fright.

That must have been terrible to watch, but nature is cruel as it is lovely. Sometimes, definitely not in the mallard duckling case, some animals must die (in particular carp) as they are known as pests and can/do corrupt and damage the environment around them
