# About me

My name is Ty. My oldest friends and family members call me Tyger (intentionally misspelled) because always adored cats and I have very tiger like eyes. I'm fiery, solitary, fierce, and bold, so it fits.

I am an artist and a passionate activist for human rights, conservation of the environment and the people, cultures, and animals therein. I'm not your average tree hugger, but I'd never take that as an insult.

I love to sculpt and make dolls. That is definitely my favorite work to do. I also make sterling silver jewelry, design and sew clothing and plush, dabble in drawing and painting, and enjoy making various mixed media sculptures. I adore all things fantasy, and I’m a total geek in that department. I grew up loving the Lord of the Rings, the Renaissance Festival, the stories of Merlin, faeries, dragons, gryphons, and all manner of beautiful fantastical beings. Fantasy fascinates me, and has shaped who I am as a person my whole life. I’m a lover of science, but my truest love always has been, and always will be, art and fantasy. I usually don't consider them to be too far apart.

I love color, texture, and fitting things together in was that are either completley different, or so simple that they get taken for granted and no one realizes how amazing they are. Geek is probably a pretty accurate identifier when it comes to me. I’m a physics geek, my thoughts are often occupied by dragons, and one of my idols is a man famous for playing with puppets all day (Jim Henson).

I made this account to display my own artwork and be exposed to that of others. This site is, to me, a wonderful haven of beauty and mind expansion. I've seen peieces on here that have inspired my art, opened my eyes to a whole new way of looking at my own work and the work of others, and even my way of looking at the world. Art is almost like a drug to me in that way, I guess you could say. I love being able to connect to other people who like what I like and want to discuss it with me and share with me their artistic impressions of those thoughts. My blog is littered with art analyses of pieces I love, many of which are from here.

My goals have changed a lot as my life has changed. I'm always going to be doing my art, no matter what else is going on. My immediate goal is to work out my issues, work my ass off at jobs and community school for the next couple years, and move in to my own apartment with a roommate within the next year. I also want to go to Europe, hone my rather untrained artistic skills, and firmly decide what I want to do with my life.
