Favorite movies: Horror movies mostly (even though they sometimes cause me to watch the shadows at night to make sure they don't move) ... without that visceral thrill, I just tend to get boredFavorite TV shows: The Big Bang Theory; Law and Order:SVU; Criminal Minds; Grey's Anatomy; Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives (I can watch episodes over and over and never get bored); Parking Wars (guilty pleasure *shrugs*)
Favorite bands / musical artists: While I tend to be a prolific channel changer, some things I will stop for are: Maroon 5; Nickleback; Linkin Park; Kesha (more guilty pleasures); Rob Zombie; Top 40 hits; Latin based Dance/Pop (Shakira, JLo, Pitbull); Halestorm; Tristan Prettyman
Favorite books: I prefer my reading material to be escapist in nature, so my favorite books tend to be romances ... particularly those of the paranormal variety
Favorite writers: JR Ward; Nalini Singh; Lara Adrian; Sherrilyn Kenyon; Larissa Ione
Favorite games: Everquest; World of Warcraft; Everquest 2
Favorite gaming platform: PC (just not a console sort of person)
Tools of the Trade: I really don't consider myself an artist ... but, if I had to answer, I'd say a mixer, an oven, a Nikon P&S, and a desire to learn and expand my baking repertoire
Other Interests: Dogs, Baking, Photography, Psychology, Wings, Makeup, Colors, Landscapes, Japanese and Chinese Culture, Nutrition, Romance, Human Behavior, Calla Lilies and Cherry Blossoms, Fashion, Set Design

Honestly, I've never seen a dahlia before. Lovely flower, and photo. I really like the kaleidoscope of colors, and multiple hues in each individual petal. It almost has a pinwheel appearance to it.
Add to that the other little details you captured, from the tiny water droplets to the light reflecting off the tips of the flower, and you a very spectacular picture.

I liked the concept of the wings that were formed by black birds (or are they butterflies? I wasn't sure). Very interesting touch. And the model's dress is stunning.

I have to confess: I'm not a huge spider fan. Used to be ... Used to want a rose tarantula for a pet. That era, however, has gone now ... And, much like many others, they give me the creeps.
HOWEVER, I really liked how you fit the cobwebs into this piece. They blend quite well with the lace and fishnets of the model's outfit ... As well as the background texture.

What drew me to your shot was the fact that it's one of the very few times I've ever seen a Beta where their fins weren't torn up. And what a beautiful color as well!

I was just flipping through pages, and that butterfly just grabbed my eye. It is so striking! And the setting you captured it in just really makes it stand out.

If you look at my favs, you'll see red popping up everywhere. So, naturally, my eye went right to this picture. This would have been a lovely sunset picture all by itself ... but the red just REALLY makes it stand out.

Oh, absolutely no problem!
Down in South Texas, the only mushrooms we see are the white poisonous ones that look similar to portobellos. So to see something like these is quite extraordinary to me.
I love the colors and all the detail in the photo. The mushrooms actually have that fleshy look to them that you don't often see in pictures.

"and she was waiting" is an interesting piece. I like the ghostly look of it, as well as the feel. It's very somber, as it appears the lady is waiting patiently in the rain ... perhaps for an unknown lover.

Oh, absolutely no problem. I am a huge dog lover, and, when I saw those two poking their heads through the grate, I immediately thought of my silly chihuahua and pomeranian poking their heads around the front door whenever I go outside to get something quickly. Like they're saying "Hey! Where are you going without us?".

No problem at all. I really liked "Comfortable Silence". From the predominant color, to the setting, it all made you think of much cooler weather.
